I am reaching out to see if anyone else has noticed their vehicle compatibility in their current listing being changed without their doing so???
For example certain models of cars being deleted from the compatibility list, or sub models "Trim" being switch, or sub models "Trim" not being selected.
I sell new and used 1950's-1970's Buick parts.
Example of deleted:
I have numerous listings where the parts fits the Buick models of LeSabre, Invicta, Wildcat, and Electra. I created the listing with all 4 models in the compatibility list. Some of these listings where created 6 months ago and some 5 years ago. I have specifically noticed the "Wildcat" & "Invicta" car models being deleted from my listings list completely.
Example being switch:
I have a rubber seal set listed for 4 door hardtop models only. I just check the listing and it has 4 door sedan models selected in the compatibility list
Example of not being selected:
I listed an item for a 1965 Riviera. The "Trim" "Gran Sport Hardtop 2-Door" is not selected in my currently listing but when I created the listed I selected all of the "Trims" for the 1965 Riviera. Did ebay add more "Trim" to their vehicle compatibility guide database and not let us know and or not update the listing to include those new "Trims"?
This has all come to my attention through buyers reaching out to me stating their vehicle in not in the compatibility list but my item title & description says it fits their vehicle. I then checked and what I original put in the listing compatibility list is no longer their forcing me to edit each listing manually. I feel this is causing me to loose sales.
I would love to hear any and all feedback or comments on this topic!

Has anyone had any ebay motors parts and accessories compatibility guide issues?

I have been having a similar issue for almost a full year now. Me and my business partner both noticed the compatibility chart on random items will have some or all of the vehicles erased after we have already input them.
Example:
We list a headlight for a F150 truck and it fits all 2022-2024 model years. We'll select 2022, 2023, 2024 for the years on the compatibility chart and select all trims for all three years. At this point it is correctly showing the number of trims underneath each year. But once you make the listing go live if you go back and look at the compatibility chart some or all of the years will now show 0 vehicles underneath each year.
We have not successfully found a solution to this, most of them it happens to the last year or two. It seems to be more common with the years 2023 2024 and 2025 now. A lot of our older inventory with older model years don't do this. But it does happen to a large portion of our inventory and this dramatically impacts the visibility of our listings because if we use a dash like 2022-2024 then we need the compatibility chart for the missing year when people search so our item will still show up. Would greatly appreciate any suggestions.

The compatibility chart/options/info/mess. Is derived from Hollander Interchange.
Hollander Interchange is constantly being updated.
However, when it comes to older vehicles (vintage) you don't see many changes because that info "should" be all correct by now due to age. And, in the salvage world, older vehicle interchange is generally considered not relevant so much.
I've seen more interchange updates actually remove info from older vehicles than add info to them.
But, updates can go either way (increase interchange info for a vehicle, or delete some of it).
It's constantly changing.
One would assume the older the vehicle the more accurate the interchange info. And that seems to be true back to 10 to 15 years. Then, it tends to become less relevant.
This whole mess is designed/catered to Late Model Salvage so those yards can list hundreds of parts per day with little to no description. Quantity over Quality.
If you are going to use Compatibility settings, I would suggest choosing anything related and including a disclaimer in your listings instructing buyers to ASK, if they are not sure, prior to purchase.
We shouldn't have to do that, but with all the incorrect info, and lack of complete and correct info....and a few other reasons. It seems most of us must.
You just cannot sell used, vintage car parts out of a self-serve vending machine.

Thank you for all of that information.
I have called ebay several times since listings I just create and select the compatibility information then gets deleted from my listing after time.
Ebay told me on the phone several times that my tech ticket is still open since September 2023 and they are working on it and see the issue but are not sure what is causing the issue. Hopefully they will fix it soon.
Ebay should not be deleting what I select as the seller out of the listing I create.

They 'update' the available vehicles and then you are missing 'checkmarks' or EVERYTHING is checkmarked as 'fitting'.
Been this way for over a decade. Do NOT wait for it to be fixed or change because it never will. When they change it, the system does not know what to do, so again, either checks all or nothing.
You just have to either deal with it, or go over each listing to fix.

BACK BEFORE Compatibility.
Lets say there are two ways to list used car parts on eBay.
A) The CORRECT way (lots of pics, good descriptions, common "car part" sense). Knowing what the part fits is a bonus, but not a deal breaker....QUALITY / 50 listings per day. 10 sales per day.
Takes the right, qualified employee. Hard to find one of those ($25/hr)
B) INCORRECT (A picture of the whole car, or a generic picture of a similar item, and not much of a description, if any at all).....QUANTITY / 100 listings per day. 2 sales per week.
Any kid can do that, easy to find those. Hire three at ($15/hr) and list 300 per day.
AND STILL....600 per day and you're not selling squat. Yet, you see that user ID with a couple hundred listings kicking your tail, and taking your sales.
SO, there you (B) are with a million listings on eBay getting ripped by Mr. Quality with 500 listings.
Yet, you just don't "get it". OR, you just can't find your own Mr. Quality. OR, you're just not gonna pay somebody $25/hr because that's absurd!
So, you get eBay involved to take Mr. Quality out of the picture. (you can do that, you have a million listings).
Introduce Interchange (compatibility), and make it seamless and automatic and integrated into your existing Savage Yard Interchange.
BAM, now your 3 employees combined, can list 600 parts a day (INCORRECTLY still) BUT, with "interchange". Yeah, that'll teach Mr. Backyard Quality! VIA slowing them down trying to manually muddle through Compatibilities just to be seen in a search result.
Mr. Quality can now only list 25 parts a day. And it's almost impossible to pay him $25/hr because sales have dropped due to the time it takes to list a part AND the increase competition in search results due to three employees Plastering hundreds of INCORRECT (but with interchange) parts per day.
Now you have 4 million listings on eBay and your sales still stink because your listings haven't changed. Interchange didn't help one bit.
So, lets call eBay ebay (you can do that, you have FOUR MILLION listings). And see if we can get some guaranteed fitment off that Compatibility thing. Maybe that will stop Mr. Quality.
Quantity over Quality.

I understand what you are saying.
I think some of my question is getting lost.
I have quality listings. I specialize in 1959-1967 Buick parts and that is all I do and I know all of the fitments from personally parting out the cars and having parts made etc.
For example: I listed an item to fit a 1964 Buick LeSabre, Wildcat, and Electra models. I then get a message from a buyer saying ebay's compatibility guide says it does not fit their 1964 Wildcat but my item title and detailed item description says it does fit. Then I go and check my listing I created a month ago and ebay delete the 1964 Wildcat fitment information out of the compatibility guide.
I was trying to see if anyone else was having that issue of ebay deleting the information you enter for the compatibility guide out of their listing.
I understand the compatibility guide is always being updated but once I post an item for sale ebay should not be editing that compatibility information, only me the seller should be able to edit that.
Also I have had some cases where ebay changed the sub models for example selecting station wagon and the part I have listed specifically does not fit a station wagon. If ebay adds the station wagon fitment to my listing and a customer buys it on the premise it fits a station wagon and then they get the part and it does not fit, that creates a major problem, which ultimately would be ebay's fault since my title and item description does not state that it fits a station wagon.
I have just under 3,000 listings I have created over the past 10 years and it is frustrating that ebay is changing the information I am entering correctly when I post the item and they buyers are reaching out for fitment information because ebay is changing what I enter and it conflicts with my title and description.
