eBay winter storm seller protection is a lie

Buyer left negative feedback for FOUR items that were packaged in the same box. USPS DELAYED THE ITEM BECAUSE OF THE WINTER STORM & EBAY REFUSES TO REMOVE NEGATIVE FEEDBACK DUE TO THIS DELAY, WHICH IS A DIRECT VIOLATION OF EBAYS SELLER PROTECTION POLICY.  I have requested the removal twice  on the phone with an eBay agent, and both were shocked eBay wouldn’t remove it.
EBAY SELLER PROTECTION IS A JOKE

Buyer also claims items were broken but could not provide proof. All the buyer sent was a photo of perfectly wrapped items.

@selsa84    "because of weather" Not because of items not received and broken items.

I would never involve myself in selling food items or R/X of any type, Just to many possible risks, that i would not like to be responsible for, Due to the item in guestion i'm not sure that it would have seller protection.

Did the tracking include a note that winter storms were causing delays? This is how my tracking for items look due to weather delays...

Seller news team eBay posted on community that it would in fact remove the negatives because of weather. Posted 1/10/25

If you look at the notice (message 8^) it's not just a blanket promise to remove negs because of weather.  There are specific criteria, specific US regions and and that the feedback must be affiliated with INR's.  And then there's the fact that this buyer's feedback isn't even about time delays.

I'm just curious, do you cancel a heat pack order if someone doesn't also buy eggs? I'm pretty sure requiring a buyer to buy additional items isn't enforceable. Why are the heat packs not worked into the egg listings (and price)?

THIS^.
I'll admit I haven't shipped fertilized eggs, but I have shipped live aquarium fish all over the country, year-round, so I'm keenly aware of what to expect from heat packs regarding bags of water with live aquatic organisms.  And in that hobby the type and number of heat packs is not left up to buyers' guess work or a separate purchase (but I'm sure eBay would love the extra fee money for that).   Heat pack cost is simply figured into shipping just like you would with any packing materials.  -Also lack thereof, in plenty-warm months and/or states (I would simply lower shipping price during the summer or refund someone the heat pack margin if they lived somewhere else in the South).

@fashunu4eeuhasks a good question, about when this refund occurred.  And it's kind of hard to tell exactly what all the buyer is talking about, but I wonder if any of the $57 total for shipping (3 egg orders times $19.99) was refunded for combining them.

All in all, it looks like postal delay was the LEAST of problems in the buyer's eyes.  Good communication could have gone a long way here.

Of course. It’s an add-on item only.

I don’t require buyers to purchase a heat pack; it’s their decision.   If a buyer is in Florida, they wouldn’t need to purchase a heat pack.  That way they’re not being charged for something they don’t need

The question is can they purchase ONLY a heat pack and not eggs

Apparently it's NOT their decision.  The buyer wanted 2 packs and paid for them, but you overrode their decision, and that is why they are angry and gave you 4 negs.

Oh there is a litany of things that can go wrong during shipping, especially if the eggs aren’t packaged a specific way.
If a buyer ever has a problem, I always re-send them another set off eggs at no cost. I’ve had buyers ruin the eggs in their incubator and I still replace them. I’d rather see them happy and it doesn’t cost me much

They paid for 2 and wanted 2 but you decided to go against that...I'd say you got the 4 negs justifiably.

2 heat packs aren't going to be helpful anyway, they won't last longer, just be 2x as warm.

Was this material sent by what we used to call overnight mail?

eBay winter storm seller protection is a lie

Honestly, I don’t think she realizes there was a delay in transit. She has never shipped eggs and doesn’t understand how to package them. I’ve been doing it for 15 years. She also doesn’t understand if I had put 2 heat packs in the same box, the eggs would have begun to incubate, then the embryos would have died after they were delivered and removed from the heat source.  Eggs can get cold, they just cannot freeze solid.
I didn’t even realize she bought 2 heating packs until she left negative feedback. I promptly refined one.  If she wanted eggs packaged a specific way, she needs to alert the seller before she purchases the eggs.  And before she leaves negative feedback, she should reach out to the seller.
