eBay why are you getting your users upset with removing classic view?

Please answer this question eBay!!!!

The classic view still exists somewhere and many many users love it and prefer to use it.

Why are you forcing some **bleep** methods on us?

Is it because you think you know what is best for us.

Getting people upset is not a good method of making us HAPPY.

Don't you care that people love an easy way to see all their information?

I spend more time trying to avoid the new methods than I do anything else when I open my eBay page.

Please remember eBay that all users on your site are important.  If we sell stuff on eBay than we buy stuff on eBay. That is a win win for eBay. But when you get your users upset and they spend more time upset and not listing anything thing than they don't buy anything.

You also forced managed payments on us. I have been on eBay for more than 20 years and now my account is basically frozen because I refuse to give you direct access to my bank account.

So it seems my time on eBay is about over.   It was a good run for the first 20 years but the last year was about the worst it could be on this site.

If you're not going to sign up for Managed Payments, having the Classic page back isn't going to make any difference.

Have a great day.

Simple answer Greed. They are hooking tons of options to Seller Hub hoping we will sign up or buy. Oh Hell no It's all I can do to sign on and list with those mess of pages. I so need and want Classic page, Ebay does not, They can't sell me their stupid services on that page. After 19 years selling I don't need extras unless it's free listings or Free Fees, I just need Classic Page. So I am listing less and less. This was a hobby anyway so a hobby it will be when I feel like it. When it becomes so burdensome to find a quick page then I just don't feel LIKE listing My listings are cut in 1/2 right now. Who knows maybe I will have a better hobby next year. I have done well on Ebay there have to be other places to do well that will respect me and treat me well. It has never been Ebay. Ebay is a steamroller and they simply don't care who they run over as long as they up the price of their shares. The Classic page is a small thing in the big scheme why not let sellers have it? Or give us a choice? No Ebay you never have given us a choice. A Dictatorship for sure. As sellers start hating to search for pages they will list less also, your business will hurt cause not all buyers want big sellers with cheap stuff from overseas.

"not all buyers want big sellers with cheap stuff" - Exactly. I mostly sell audio brochures/catalogues, most of which only I have. That is why I have buyers from all continents. It's a very narrow niche, but when I'm gone, no-one will replace me.

Ebay, like many other websites (my bank, PP etc.) all change their sites. Many times it's for Cell phones so items can be seen easier- I know my bank just changed everything for just that reason.

Seller Hub is cumbersome at first, but just take 10 minutes and click each item in each box to familiarize yourself with the parts that YOU want/need.

Top left when you 1st open- is items that are sold and need to be shipped. Down in 'Listings'- click 'Active Listings' and it looks much like classic. You can change the view by moving around the column lines at the top, shrink the 1st column and stretch the description so it's about 1" instead of 2". You can change how many items are shown from the preset 25 to 200 (and it stays!)

Some other important ones:

Markdown manager is just a click from the Hub

Vacation (time off) is now just a click from the Hub

Block Bidders is also just a click right from the Hub..

Daily and Weekly sales are shown in an instant on the graph (in dollars)

Bottom line- no more 'searching' for that 'other' thing

I am not eBay, but as a software engineeer I can guess the answer.

eBay has been nudging sellers to the Seller Hub for several years now, and they are tired of maintaining two  separate screens that are probably built on differnt technologies.

Due to the advent of mobile devices and cloud computing, the entire web is moving away from monolithic all-in-one pages, and moving toward smaller targeted pages that load faster, reduce bandwith and work better with mobile devices.

PayPal has been doing the same thing. So has my bank, my credit cards, an the company I work for.

My husband is a software engineer also,  and there are major changes to many of the platforms that these sites run on.

The Classic site was properly so outdated that it would have been a major production to get it to run.

The fact that the classic page was outdated does not excuse the poor graphic layout of the new page for those of us who still use desktops.    And I doubt that for a company the size of Ebay it would have been that cost prohibitive to maintain the page.  At the very least there was no excuse to make the decision and spend money to block the work around link that was still working for many sellers.
