eBay’s response to me reporting phishing message:

IMG_1369.jpeg

nothing, eBay does not remove the user or the message and does not send anything to warn me.  This was reported 2 weeks ago.  What kind of terrible CS is this?   Shame shame.

what happens if you try to avoid fees and deal locally ? Instantly having your message monitored and read by staff and given a harsh statement to never do it again.

eBay’s response to me reporting phishing message:

What "phishing" was reported? The statement is true, sellers can adjust their preference as to who cannot buy from them. Go to "Account Settings" > "Selling Preferences" > click "edit" next to "Managing who can buy from you" to see what yours is set at.

The eBay user agreement clearly states you cannot offer to buy or sell outside of eBay if contacted through eBay. The user agreement also states they will read messages sent through eBay to prevent fraudulent activity or violations. It keeps the honest people honest. If you don't like eBay's terms then don't use their platform.

eBay’s response to me reporting phishing message:

They won't tell you if they remove the buyer or if they do anything to them, for privacy reasons.

eBay’s response to me reporting phishing message:

You're kidding right?

NO ebay IDs have "limitations on selling to new users" and the link is most likely a fake phishing for info link.

@cellitnow_com

You can report inappropriate eBay messages right on the message page itself.  It is under the ACTION tab.

This is what it looks like on the web. Seller above is on the app - I should take a look one day and see if I can find a report option through app messaging.

eBay’s response to me reporting phishing message:

I'm not sure you understand what phishing IS.

Example:   Car salesman working the lot.  A potential customer walks up and offers a 1968 Mustang Fastback in cherry condition as a trade-in and wants only $5k for it.  Salesman tells him "Sell it to me.  I'll give you $6k cash."

THAT is phishing.

And if he gets caught ... he will be fired.

Although ... for the above deal - it might be worth it.

That's NOT phishing, or even Fishing. That is just an employee that is a thief trying to 'scoop' his employer.
