The eBay tech blog just published an article about their "new" intuitive search redesign but honestly...I'm pretty sure I've been seeing all of this stuff for quite some time now.
Modern interface
The search page has been redesigned with a focus on visual clarity. Larger product images and streamlined menu buttons contribute to a user-friendly layout that simplifies navigation and decision-making.
High-resolution listing images
The page will now feature a visual-rich browsing experience, with high-resolution images that are larger in size, to enhance the listings without compromising site performance.
Shopping View
The new Shopping View replaces the previous gallery view, offering a full-width display without sidebar ads. This is particularly beneficial for categories like Clothing, Shoes & Accessories, and Toys & Hobbies, where larger images enhance the shopping experience.
Navigation and filters
The navigation panel and top-of-page filters now feature redesigned drop-down menus, making the browsing experience more intuitive.
Information layout
eBay has reorganized the presentation of listings with rounded image corners, uniform image sizes, and consistent font styles for a more cohesive and clear product display.
Centralized delivery and shipping options
All delivery and shipping options are now located in one convenient place, with a streamlined process for updating shipping locations. This centralization allows buyers to easily find their preferred delivery method.
Interactive price graph
The price filter now includes an interactive graph, allowing users to adjust their price range with ease. The updated graph offers a clear visual representation of price distribution within search results.
I suppose it's probably a function of a lot of this stuff having been a/b tested for months, just wondering if anyone else is not really seeing the "new" here. 😂

I suspect you are right...I'm not seeing anything that looks like some sort of radical departure from the recent past, but that's probably because we've been seeing test versions of all this stuff for months.
I seem to recall that ebay had also announced they were working on a major redesign of the Site Home Page...and while I'm sure they have probably made some changes, I can't say I've really noticed much of anything that strikes me as a major departure from what we've seen before.

I am far more intrigued by the concentration in one place of so many meaningless buzzwords. Who writes like this?? (Oh... I know -- ChatGPT.)

"eBay has transformed its search experience with a major redesign aimed at providing a seamless, intuitive, and visually rich shopping journey. After 18 months of extensive user research and testing, eBay's new search interface features larger, high-resolution images, a modernized layout, and streamlined navigation.
These enhancements empower buyers to make informed decisions quickly and efficiently, particularly in visual categories like Clothing, Shoes & Accessories, Jewelry & Watches, and Toys & Hobbies.
Notable improvements include a new Shopping View, consolidated delivery options, and interactive price filters. eBay's ongoing commitment to leveraging artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning ensures continuous optimization of the user experience, building trust and efficiency for both buyers and sellers."

That might be AI but it could also just be the normal "investor speak" that has been in use for decades.
This one "leveraging artificial intelligence" is particular popular these days, pretty much every statement targeted at Wall Street must include some AI buzzwords or you will be looked at like some type of dinosaur.

All I noticed was today for some reason it wanted to keep switching to gallery view, I'd change it back to list view then the very next search it would be back to gallery.🙄

I used to write stuff like that by the bucket-load in my corp days. It's just generic advert speak.
Remember, AI wasn't just magicked out of nowhere, it's the product of digesting internet content. That's why its such a bodge, because its diet is so bad. GIGO.
ETA: Dangit - I forgot to ask if they're getting rid of that weird pinkish tinge or dingy grey (depending) on the white backgrounds of our photos in their quest for high-resolution images that are larger in size.

This statement is ChatGPT. It came back as a 98% AI match.

Most advert-speak is going to come back with a match - AI is the perfect ouroboros.

Oh, I know. I worked for the USG for 44 years. Have you ever parsed what comes out of the State Department, for example? eBay s is Shakespeare by comparison.
The irony is that we are being asked to use such lingo -- or something similar -- in our listing descriptions.
That would be a sure fire way to lose traffic.

Everytime EB "enhances" and improves, I cringe.
