I've been an eBay member 10+ years. I'm an occasional buyer & occasional seller. But I mean nothing to eBay. eBay caters to the mega seller. After 10+ years I'm still at eBays' mercy to release "MY" money after 14 days. I was told to file for early release after I make 10 sales in 90 days. Really? I'm lucky if I make 2 or 3 sales in 90 days. I've never had any complaints, disputes or negative reviews. I have always responded to all queries from buyers. My faithful membership and honest selling mean nothing to eBay.........

and the real reason for posting this thread is?
Rants really serve no purpose and there is little response from fellow sellers that will change the situation.
You either find a way to increase sales that will satisfy eBay or move on...
This is a world of accept, adapt, adjust and carry on!

Every 30 days you can ask that restrictions be reduced or removed.
You might try doing that here:
https://twitter.com/askebay
https://www.facebook.com/eBay/
rather than through the phone clerks, who are sub-contractors with little authority.
However with only one listing you are unlikely to be found in Search, since one criterion is regular sales. And that single listing is less likely to be found than if you had 10 or 100 listings- a Search might pick up one of those leading the customer to browse your other items.

You're on Managed Payments. Until eBay knows you are trustworthy, they are not going to release your money until you prove yourself. ALL of your feedback has been as a buyer.
You have done nothing to prove yourself as a seller.
You want to be part of us. There are dues to pay. I know that is pretty rough language but it is the truth.
So sell. Ship on time. Be responsible. Then the world of ebay will be open to you.

I'm sure you're valued, grasshopper. You've just come up against the new seller hold, evidently. Hang in there...

I noticed that you have 1,755 listings. You have no idea what it's like to be the little guy and post maybe 5 items in a year. Loyalty to the site should count for something. Are you just upset because I never bought nothing from you?

You mean nothing to the supermarket clerk who wishes you a nice day, even if you have shopped there for a decade.
The janitor at work doesn't know who you are, only that you left a partially eaten tuna sandwich on your desk over the weekend that time.
The cop pulled you over for speeding was polite because of her training not because she knew the very first time you did in over 30 years of driving.
We all live anonymous lives, all the more since there are many transactions we make that are not with people at all but with programmed responses.
Part of eBay's automated responses is to be very cautious with new , occasional or questionable sellers. We work with restrictions that are designed to protect eBay and, only by extension, the buyer. Because buyers are harder to find and keep than sellers.
Even being a long term / high transaction seller doesn't stop that. A sportscard seller was recently tossed off the site for breaking the rules (about shill bidding as I recall).
EBay is not your friend. EBay is your landlord.

@grasshopper0420581101 - There are increasing problems with account hijacking. One can purchase 'verified' eBay accounts on line from any shyster. Your older account with little activity and sudden listings is a red flag for a dormant account that has been hijacked. Hackers do not care about longevity or loyalty. So now accounts that fit this risk profile have holds. Think of it this way - how would you feel if you logged on and suddenly found a lot of bogus listings for electronics or watches on your account and you had no idea how they got there? You may be angry because eBay didn't vet this thief who stole your account.
It's similar when credit cards detect sudden changes in spending pattern. This includes the one I've had for 25 years - it's OK with me and I verify the spend, because what if it hadn't been me? (and I've been through this).

Actually, all sellers here have been "the little guy" at some point in time. We've all gone through the payment holds and selling limits when we first got started. They don't just let brand new sellers come on here and list 2,000 items for $50,000, you have to work your way up to that level. They will increase your levels once you prove to them that you are a responsible seller who can handle it-- that's all it is.

Since eBay began 26 years ago things have changed, the site has grown as it should and yes bigger sellers will not be restricted to holds simply because of the volume and rate they sell at..
For the occasional seller, so long as you understand that holds are placed on your account you can make an informed decision.
1. Sell your item here and wait for the hold time for payment
2. Sell your item on a more local site that does not have payment processors.
All of this information is readily available and due diligence should be done no matter which platform you decide sell on.

@downunder-61... tagging onto your words...
I see casino chips. I think those are a great item sold here. Here, you have more eyeballs. 👀
I see two great items that I'd dare not sell here. Since you prefer Local Pickup, advertise them locally. 💸

So basically ebay is treating you the same as the rest of us.
The nerve of them.

That’s you’re problem though. No consistent listings.
I have a full time job so I have 40 or so items up that I ignore for months at a time.
I sell 1 or 2 things a month, anyway. And get paid the day after my buyer pays me.

I seriously don't understand why people take this personally. I can understand why it startles them if they sold on here before - one doesn't realise that things change, and it's inconvenient, yes - but taking it personally as if somebody in eBay's backroom says "Oh yeah, I remember Joe Dogsbody - yeah, he sold a gas-powered toilet plunger on here in 2017 and bought a really nice goiter in...what...2019 I think? Anyway, he's a solid guy."
