eBay on Facebook

I've posted a few times on the eBay Facebook page

I'm surprised at how fast they respond. . .

For those seeking advise or help Facebook might get you better results then posting here.

This summer, Store subscribers and high volume Vehicle sellers will be able to provide a customer service phone number to share with buyers via Ask seller a question. This feature will be available when buyers have questions about their purchase and in limited situations for pre-purchase questions.

Hope you have not bulk editting too many listings.

@tev4all

Thank you so much for clarifying that!  Ok, good thing I haven't yet gone back to bulk edit anything.  So from what I understood from the seller update was that as of this September, nobody will be allowed to post phone numbers in a listing description (or any other eBay page).

Now from your post, I understand that store subscribers and high volume vehicle sellers will be able to share a phone number via Ask Seller a Question, and only in limited situations as you described.

Okay, that works for me.  It doesn't matter to me either way whether a phone number is allowed or not. I've always provided a customer service phone number for the convenience of the occasional buyer who likes to pick up the phone and talk to a live person.    If they call and are interested in the item, I tell them they have to hop back onto eBay and complete their purchase there.

eBay on Facebook

@z50com

Can someone provide a link.

I can't for the life of me, find them on FB.

Bunch of people with ebay as part of their name.

But nothing that looks official.

I started a FB page, just  so my wife could share funny pics.

But I really don't know how to use it.

I am trying to end my Luddite ways.

Never pictured you as an Englishman, although you do have a sometime hilarious way with english language.  Smiley LOL

I don't believe just a link would let you in, IT seems you need to be friended or liked first.  I don't see anything that would make you unlikeable or not friendwothy.

How dare you call me an englishman, them are fighting words... snort.

Even using the phrase Z used, I can't seem to find the ebay page, it has no matches.

and I do take liberty with the use of words, but I do it to have fun, and just to see.

I'd like the link to the FB page also - there are a lot of Ebay pages - but none I see where people are commenting on our policies here - just a bunch of ads like we see on the home page - so if it's all that folks - cough it up so the rest of us can take a look and decide if we'd be better served over there.

I lurk over at "eBay for Business" and I'm honestly not too impressed. There's a lot of attaboys! by eBay staff, not a lot of fresh business ideas and many, many, many pics of Griff.

the big push seems to be the Shine Awards- I haven't seen any mention of these boards but I see as much if not more complaints about slow and nonexistent sales.

maybe there are other eBay FB pages that are also staffed by eBay employees? But I haven't found them...

How come I don't need to go to Facebook for help on Amazon or Etsy?

I don't want to be forced to sign up for Facebook just to do business with eBay. After all, Facebook is a competing marketplace. Do I go to McDonald's to find out about my order at Burger King? Maybe I should just buy a Big Mac instead of a Whopper.

Perhaps this seller can help with directions to Facebook ~ he just had a case that was decided against him overturned ~ from his post:

UPDATE:

I used facebook messenger to contact support. I didn't actually get a response that made sense, but they did reverse the case for me. They didn't even ask for the tracking number, I didn't even get that far with them. While I'm happy (and surprised) the claim got reversed, I was really looking for an answer on how a case can be opened and closed before I had my shot to upload tracking or respond via messages.

http://community.ebay.com/t5/Selling/Buyer-opened-and-somehow-was-able-to-close-dispute-on-same-day/...

Per Trinton on that thread:

While we aren't able to look into account specifics here, our customer service team can look into options if you reach out to them via phone, www.Facebook.com/eBay or www.Twitter.com/AskeBay with the case details.

Z your going to get alot of push back because most community board posters believe they/ebay  should be here on their own platform and answer as much if not more here.

Many don't/won't use facebook. It's just not for everyone.

And one of those would be me.

Have you tried?

My bet is they monitor their pages too.

I've never had any need. They have contact info right on site, unlike eBay who doesn't even have a live chat or want their phone number given out on their own discussion boards...

It's as if I had to talk to my wife through an attorney, and you know what THAT means...
