eBay live chat?

Maybe I've been missing something all this time, but I never knew until now that eBay has live chat. When did they start offering this service?

I just used it. I have an old eBay page bookmarked that used to just have eBay's phone number, but when I accessed it today, there was a link for live chat at the bottom. 

I minute wait and I got someone immediately.

The thing is, if you try to find the link to it online right now, I don't think it can be found....or at least I can't find it by searching. The only reason I found it today is because I had a link bookmarked to their phone number from at least 10 years ago (the same link I posted in my previous post up above). Back then, though, the live chat access wasn't posted on that page, but now it's at the bottom of it.

When I used live chat it was easy to find the link, but I remember reading on the boards that live chat had been stopped. Maybe people thought live chat had been stopped because the link disappeared, and it's not easy to find it?

I used it yesterday with no problems. Plus you get a transcript of the chat.

Any time I searched for live chat over the past few years, google search always directed me to the sellers forum archives where it was always posted that there was no live chat available at that time. I wonder if eBay just made it available again, now that phone support is down.

I used it yesterday with no problems. Plus you get a transcript of the chat.

Maybe they temporarily reinstated the function due to the outsourced  phone support not being available right now.   Years ago, when they disconnected the live chat feature, some said it was because you could get a transcript of the chat (or even copy/paste it yourself)....LOL...you had a written copy of the erroneous  information you were given that could often land you in more trouble than when you started.

Ebay has made it IMPOSSIBLE to contact any representative due to COVID-19. I literally spent 20 minutes trying to find a way to email or call someone and was just going around in circles until I came across your link posted to this forum. I understand the challenge businesses are facing with their staff working from home but this is UNACCEPTABLE for ebay to close all methods of contact when you actually have an issue. The help pages are a joke. We pay entirely too much on fees for this to be happening.
