eBay has NO RIGHT to steal ,yes STEAL, money meant for shipping, from sellers. When a seller puts a shipping price in, the price they’re quoting is the actual shipping cost. But eBay ,for some reason, believes they’re entitled to take 13.5% of that shipping money therefore having the seller themselves make up the difference.
Ebay already takes 13.5% from the final auction price. That should be it! They have nothing to do with shipping. They’re not handling the item in any way, shape or form. If it cost $10 to ship, that is exactly what the seller should receive, not $8.65.
eBay has become greedy in their practice of stealing money from sellers, from the same people who allow them to exist.
*Im aware what TOS says, that doesn’t make it right.

eBay think i am stupid. first stole 60$ from my previous payout then i sold an item and for 132$ and had to refund partially the client with 100$ then the remaining 32$ are gone and they have the BALLS to steal more money from my card withouth my authorization to pay for the refund when they HAD ALL THE MONEY FROM THE SELL!!! THEY DIDNT HAVE TO PUT THEIRS DISGUTING STEALING HANDS ON MY BANK ACCOUNT. BUT I AM MOVING AND PLANNING TO SUE EBAY FOR MILLIONS!!!

I don't think ebay "stole" money from you for the refund you issued. If you didn't have the full amount in your managed payment account, they would get the money from your bank card. And it wasn't stolen since you agreed to the terms.
As for moving and leaving ebay, don't forget to end your 22 listings.
Please let us know how your lawsuit goes.

"Intriguing" wasn't the word I had in mind. 😉

Have you ever read the policy on Seller Fees or the User Agreement. Both of which you have to adhere to as every other seller does. Ebay does not hide fees, they are quite transparent about telling sellers them. But the seller has to be willing to read it. You can help reduce your stress by making sure you are updated on the rules in which sellers have to abide by.
You are also a RETURNING seller after more than 90 days away from selling. That means Ebay is likely to hold your funds for a period of time too.
Ebay has had a rule for many years that pertains to New Seller and sellers that have been away from selling for 90+ days. The following is the policy that outlines why you money is likely on hold.
https://export.ebay.com/en/fees-and-payments/payments/payment-holds/

No, not at all. The information I provided for you in an effort for you to better understand what Ebay charges for their Services.
I realize you are upset. You would likely help yourself a great deal and your blood pressure if you read through the User Agreement that you agreed to follow so you can use this site. I'm not trying to upset you further. I'm ONLY trying to explain to you why what has happened to your account has happened.
It is a short term issue for Ebay holding your money as outlined in the links I provided your earlier. You are upset because you didn't understand what or why things happened. Getting upset with those that are trying to explain things to you will get you no where. Unless that is your goal.

Have you even read the User Agreement you consented to when you opened your account?
Have you reviewed the Seller Fee Policy?
It is all information out there for you to read or ignore.

Are you people still arguing over this??? Seriously?
Would you all be happier if Ebay charged 20% FVFs on just the item price assuming we all use Ebay Labels like what Poshmark does? Would the comments thats Ebay is "stealing" money from shipping go away? Ha probably not.
Your real complaint is fees are high. Which is a fair complaint. Ebay is not going to lower their fees just because we don't like it. I would love to be able to convince Ebay, my landlord, my employees, the gas company, grocery store, every retailer I shop at to take less of y heard earned money. But alas...
BTW if Ebay did make this change they would make sure to get the same amount of fees regardless. Up to you. 13.25% on (Price + shipping + Tax) or 20% on Price Only. Either way Ebay gets the same amount of fees roughly.
If your shipping expenses are less than 40% of the item price, Ebay's fee structure saves you a few bucks. If your shipping price is greater than 40% of your item price, you save a few bucks with Poshmark's 20% item price fee structure.

You are probably correct the focus of the rants would just change from shipping to fees in general. One thing that would most likely go away, if the FVF was just on the item price, would be sellers offering free shipping. At the moment that is about 75% of the current eBay listings.

I agree. Literally sold a book, they got $1.08 and I got 12¢ - how can they say they are taking a percentage? It's been going on too long and they know sellers don't see the shipping fees and local taxes but they are charging us for it! Anything Media Mail they take what looks like 95% cause we don't see the discounts from USPS. It's just disgusting. We need help because eBay doesn't care - I've complained multiple times and they say they care about our feedback but then INCREASE the fees even more? We sellers are getting ripped off. That's why the eBay CEO was laughing at ebayers as he told stockholders that all profits come from selling fees - they sure do. I don't think the public would be okay seeing things like the above and as a customer on eBay, I no longer buy Media Mail from anyone but corporation because I know the seller is just getting robbed. I'm not selling anymore books/DVDs after the ones I already listed because it will just cost me more money than I make on the tape alone to package! And eBay reacts by blocking sales from me I swear every time I voice my opinion. It's abuse really after all these years and hard work we've done to make our virtual yard sale what it is, and it's not fair nor right that we have to stop selling things because of eBay greed. I'm only asking for a darn dollar and they take it!
11-21-2023 03:16 PM
Yes but they can clearly make an algorithm to see whose doing that! Don't buy into their lies which is what your doing. I'm just saying - it's easy to see whose doing that and they can block them too if they do that. Instead they punish they mostly honest sellers? That's not justice
11-21-2023 03:18 PM
I sold a book. Ebay took $1.08 and I got 12¢. Clearly listed the exact price for Media Mail and we don't get discounts for that service and that's the only one that would make us competitive. So eBay is stealing. They know all the facts above, I've shown them multiple times and why are we charged for the local taxes that we don't even collect? It's not just shipping in their fees nowadays.
11-21-2023 03:21 PM
Why punish the sellers doing the right thing? Again look at my example. I sold a book online for the general price it's sold for and the media mail at the exact price and we don't see discounts from USPS on this service. eBay knows this. Ebay sees it cause I have shown them how unfair their fees are anymore. I sold the book. Ebay made $1.08 and I made 12¢ - now if you think that's right, then you just don't sympathize with every day people struggling. Ebay is going too far on Media Mail items. They should NEVER be making more than the seller. That's not right.

You listed a book at $1.20+ shipping at $3.92=5.12 x 14% (I think it is) = 72c........not sure how you made 12c.
But beyond that........Ebay doesn't figure their charges by how much you want to make.......It's up to you to price stuff so you make what you want......IF the item can be sold at that price. If it can't, it's obviously better not to list it. YOU obviously know the costs.....so why would you list something at $1.20?
