Received an email (not through eBay's email system) with an invite to join a live webinar about joining "eBay US Customer Support Services". Email was titled "Earn money helping other sellers on eBay". Went to the link in the email and the page appeared legit. Anyone else get this email? TIA.

I'm with you. I'm still trying to master this.

@mtgraves7984 where did you get a picture of what I'm going to be doing that will prevent me from being able to make the zoom call about this new program? 🤣

@valueaddedresource ... 😊
Gotta admit... I got the email, saw the word 'webinar' and deleted it. Heck, they all say "earn money". 😑

🤣😆I don't even know what that is, they make this for small children(?)... and depict the kids on the box drinking coffee lol

lol, didn't even notice before I replied the side of the box "Now your kids can suffer just like you" - gag I completely missed... but you know I'm in my 40's and don't pay attention to kid toys these days, just seen Fisher Price and assumed it to be legit. 😅

Well, looks like my post generated lots of traffic on and off the original topic. Following that up, another email from eBay . More enticements, including a $10 bonus for downloading the Limitless app and answering the first 10 questions. Looks like this is what we used to call "flat rate" in the auto repair racket as an unspecified payment is offered for every time "you successfully resolve a question". Wonder who decides what's successful; you, the customer, or eBay?
Love the last part, though: "We've invited you for being a brilliant eBay ambassador and we're excited for you to share your experience with others - and earn some extra money in the process".

The one awarding the cash compensation would be my guess. Maybe you only get ebay bucks.

@bimm_corp - I went through the initial onboarding/quiz section just to satisfy my curiosity.
Basically, it's the same format as the UK version.
Experts are independent contractors, no minimum or maximum answers or time required. All expenses, taxes, etc. are your responsibility. Payment is made via PayPal and you can request disbursement at any time.
Pay is $1.20 for every answer that is either accepted by the "asker" with a 4 or 5 star rating, or positively voted by other Experts.
If multiple Experts work together on the answer, peer review by other Experts determines how the $1.20 is divided up between the contributors.
Initially, access to request help from this program will only be available through the listing form page and Experts are limited to only answering questions about "getting started" and "creating a listing" - all other topics must be directed back to eBay customer service.
Limitless has a Knowledge Library available and you can also use links to eBay policy & help pages, enhanced with your own personal experience as a seller, to answer questions in a "positive, professional tone".
Experts are encouraged to tell sellers that adding Best Offer to the listing is a great way increase their chances of a successful sale.
That's about all I got out of the initial set up section. I didn't see enough there to pique my interest to go further.
Given the extremely limited topics (irony since it is run by Limitless? 🤣), I don't really see much value in this program for either sellers or Experts at this time, but maybe it will grow into something more eventually.
Definitely interested to hear more thoughts from anyone who signs up though!

I got the follow up email too when I didn't participate in the original webinar saying they still wanted me because of my expertise but you know what tickles me about it? The only id that got it was my posting id that just sits idle but not any of my main selling accounts that actually shows my good track record. Or is it because that id posts here, that is why that id was picked?
sorry, ebay, not interested.
I have all my cameras covered up on all my computers because My one computer used to show when the cam was on and boy that thing was on more than it was off it seems. just didn't like having the whole world see my sexy naked hairy body without my knowledge at least not until it was showered and my hair combed anyways .

@fuzzface50 this is my posting ID and it was the one invited to the program too, I suspect based on my community activity. 😉

Then why don't they just ask the "mentors"?

@ronsam-197 I would suspect many of the mentors received the invitation as well, but don't know for sure.
As far as why would a seller with a question use the Experts program instead of just coming here to the community?
Part of it could just be ease of access. My understanding is the Limitless program will be integrated into the listing flow where if a seller gets stuck or has a question about creating a listing they will be able to click through from that point to ask an expert. New sellers in particular who would be most likely to need this kind of help may not even be aware the community exists.
I suppose there could also be a certain amount of "appeal to authority" that could come in to play where presumably the answers from "verified experts" carry a lot of weight, above and beyond even what being a community mentor might have.

"Limitless estimates that sellers could earn .......... in six weeks, enough extra money to cover the cost of an average annual household energy bill."The available hours in six weeks is 1008 hours. The average annual household energy bill in the UK is 1250 pounds.
So a seller "could" earn somewhere between 1.25 pounds per hour all the way up to 1250 pounds per hour.
Any guesses about which end of that spectrum most sellers will fall?
I am going to guess that for every hour worked the "Expert Seller" shall earn two (2) kilowatt hours of energy. 😉
So we have power covered....will they also be paying enough to cover the cost of internet service? 😉
What are you saying? Is internet service a requirement? If so this job is getting more expensive by the minute.😉
So... the pay rate is:
"You’ll earn a $10 bonus once you complete the learning and resolve your first ten questions and up to $1.20 for every question you successfully resolve.
Through our app, you’ll answer questions from eBay Sellers and get cash rewards. No commitments, no schedules – simply log in, help someone and earn on the go!"
From the second email invite I received after the webinar on the 12th - apparently if you didn't attended, your still invited ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I found this interesting case study regarding the UK program. I'm guessing they are expecting similar results for US. https://www.limitlesstech.com/clients/ebay/

I think with that level of "pay" I'll stick with "helpfuls," badges and the occasional bash over the head by disgruntled types. 😋
