Hi everyone,
I am beyond excited about the new eBay shipping method to give sellers a cheaper alternative for cards under $20. A lot of what I recently started selling fall right into this category.
One of my biggest painpoints thus far is providing free shipping without the fear of having to refund someone who isn't necessarily interested in waiting. I am a new seller, and the holiday season forced me to refund many people since the delivery times were delayed across the US. From an eBay POV of the seller, there was no tracking number and the buyer would deserve the refund if they hadn't received the item.
Does anyone have an idea of when this shipping method will become available? The article its mentioned in states in January, but was hoping to get a specific date to prepare my policies.
Thank you!

I believe they said it would be late January.

I suspect that when a date it set, it will be posted in the eBay Announcements just like the initial annoucement.

It's not helpful that they make an "Announcement" in one place, then have reps take to YouTube and make the "announcement" with a little more detail, and then some claiming to be "in the know" say they "heard" more details. They need to have one place for Announcements and they need to be complete and update in the same spot.
I'm one of those waiting patiently for them to roll this out, I got stuff to sell when/IF they do.

With the postal rates going up on January 24th I wouldn't be surprised if it goes live that day so they can add it into the system at the same time they make pricing adjustments.

I have contacted eBay four times regarding this, through chat and via phone, and each time the customer service representative did not know. They had to reach out to a supervisor on my question as to a specific date. (They even cut and paste the information from the Announcement).
The second time I chatted, I received a date of January 8th, but I guess that was made up and incorrect. Honestly, I am now planning for 1 Feb. Would be nice if they provided more information on roll out when they made the announcement. Seems like they will benefit greatly from this new shipping option as well, so there is no need for them to not release it ASAP.

Latest I've seen on it is there is no announced date, but it definitely won't be January. So I'd figure Feb sometime.

All of the initial PR says "sometime in January." You might be correct, but I'm just curious why you think that when there's still a week remaining.

One of the staff who was working on the new tracked envelope accidentally published a page about it in early November. The page was removed, but by then of course everybody had seen it and had gotten excited about the new service. You can see the "Oops" admission in post #22 of this thread:
So the official announcement that was published in early December might not have actually been a planned heads-up; it might have been more of a "please stop asking us about this, we're working on it." When an announcement is made in early December regarding a release that's anticipated for January, we shouldn't be surprised if there's a little slippage in the date.

The question was asked yesterday on Griff's "ebay for Business Podcast" FB page. This was his answer:
"This feature is not scheduled for release in Jan. More news will be forthcoming during the next few months." Given that this is basically being done in partnership with the USPS, and given the many challenges currently facing the USPS, I don't find this surprising. Disappointing, yes, surprising, no.

I see it NOW (Mon. Jan. 25th) - there is an option when I went to revise one of my cards. So glad!

There sure is! I was able to set up a test scheduled listing.
The price shows as 51 cents!!
Somebody must have left Griff out of the loop. Alas, I've been quoting him on the boards ever since I read cottage's post.
