eBay Scammers

Hello, I mostly sell sealed sports cards boxes/packs on eBay and have recently come across a few scammers that are slowly deterring me away from this platform. In the most recent situation, a buyer said I sent him the wrong quantity of said specific item and said he would offer to split half the cost of the FALSELY claimed missing sports card packs. He is trying to hustle me out of $40 when I know 100% I shipped him everything he ordered. I run across many people like this and even had a case go on for over a month that was over $600 where a buyer placed a bulk order and returned me EMPTY boxes.

These experiences and dealing with buyers on eBay are so terrible and now I have no choice to figure out how to defend myself. I was wondering if I strapped my GoPro to my chest while I pack the orders, show the label I print out, and drive to the post office to drop the packages off all in one video will this provide me some protection on eBay. I am truthfully tired of scammers and constantly worried that I'm about to be targeted next. I hope this is a good idea because this is the only option that I know of to protect myself.

Another option that I highly suggest is to provide an authenticity guarantee on sealed boxes and cards worth over $50. I know that StockX has a middle man service to prevent fakes/scams. eBay needs to implement some form of protection for situations like this. I will personally be looking like a clown packing my orders, driving to the post office, and walking inside with a GoPro strapped to my chest just to protect myself. This is ridiculous eBay!

Sorry..

The scams are getting way out of hand..

As a seller of high value items, I feel your apprehension.. I do..

Sadly, eBay has never accepted photos or videos of evidence of anything.

They can both be faked, NOT that you would do that but that's their justification for not accepting them.

A 30-minute long video uncut isn't sufficient evidence?

Re: eBay Scammers

I am still going to record. I think if I send the buyer a video and they see me packaging everything and shipping it in one video it will shut them down quickly.

That might work.   You won't know until you try it.   As mentioned above though, ebay doesn't care a fig about videos or photos.

Re: eBay Scammers

...buyers might not watching your video records...

...and even if they watched, they still can file an INAD case, a credit card charge back, or a transaction dispute to scam you out of your money and your items...

...when someone fully intend to rob you, nothing could stop them...

Re: eBay Scammers

Honestly, with eBay taking so much in fees they should provide some sort of verification for high ticket items. If things like this keep happening, I can see sellers shifting more towards other platforms.

eBay is taking fees and not providing the seller protection

StockX is taking fees and at least they're verifying the products, so both the seller and buyer are protected

Obviously StockX is not as big as eBay, but they are expanding.
