eBay Personal lying multiple times and appeal team doesn’t investigate anything more than surface?

Anybody have these issues?

1.      I purchased an item from a seller. Me being a seller I know how the process is. I bought a coffee maker from a seller. My account address is a P.O. Box the seller shipped the item to the physical address of the post office not to include the P.O. Box number. “Fun fact” “UPS” doesn’t ship to post office box. Right off the bat the seller sent me a tracking number via message. Which means he didn’t use eBay or a secondary ship service to purchase his label. The item gets to the physical address of the post office and gets return to sender since they don’t accept UPS TO BEGIN with. On the items tracking the item looks like I rejected the item but the shipping Carrier did. After he gave me a partial refund he relished the item again and then took it down.

also he sent me a picture of the label which doesn’t have the P.O Box number on it.

The issue is he said he would send it again. He didn’t he said it would cost too much and he would throw it away. I request a refund and he gives me a partial refund of $55.64 the total was $104.73 he didn’t give me a full refund and eBay has declined my full refund multiple times.

The seller/EBay owes me $49.09. eBay’s money back guarantee is trash. Employees are constantly lying or not doing what they say. Their investigation team only looks at items surface level

I was told that ebay would give my money back I waited 7-10 Buisness day nothing was done. This is regarding multiple calls of +14 calls.

This issue has been on going for one month I paid for the item on may 29 2023

there has been no resolution and eBay needs to pay up and train their employees correctly

Why would a seller ship a item to a buyer out of the gate knowing that it will not get delivered by the chosen carrier.

ONLY FOR A SCAM, THATS OBVIOUS!

I as a seller would never do this, just saying.

Key words are "refused package"....that really hurts. Too bad the seller wouldn't step up to giving you the full refund for his mistake.

I would not do a credit card dispute here..."refused package" is labeled on the package. You would lose with the bank and be charged a $20.00 fee from them.

But the seller did nothing wrong.

Listing stated that shipping is UPS and in one of the messages to the seller, @mr_resale_inc told the seller to us USPS. (Screenshot below) Buyers have no right to force a seller to ship using a method that the seller didn't plan on using! In my opinion, the seller went above and beyond when it was the buyer's error in the first place.

This message above is from after it got returned to sender.

Initially when I bought the item from him he sent me a UPS tracking number via message. The tracking number did not post to the item automatically because he used a store instead of a third party shipping service via eBay imported sold items.

after going to the 4 times to the post office Initially looking for my package and asking personal and calling UPS They said they don’t ship to P.O. Box’s. I asked them if I could be rerouted to a residential and they said no since it was already being sent back.

after that I told him I still wanted the coffee maker and he would send it again to the correct address that he should of sent it to, to begin with   . He was complaining about shipping cost and I recommended parcel select ground because it is cheaper and he said it wasn’t. And he was going to through way the item. Which was another lie when I saw he relisted it again.

Well I can see where this would be an exasperating experience.  I would like to hit a few points you made that may help you get some resolution to this problem.  I'm not sure if you thought of them or if someone else suggested any of this, so if I'm repeating what you already know, I'm sorry.

" My account address is a P.O. Box the seller shipped the item to the physical address of the post office not to include the P.O."  This is an extremely important fact.  When a seller changes the address a buyer gives them to ship to, the seller LOSES Seller protection.  This is a big no no for sellers.  For this reason alone you should be able to file an INR [item not received] and WIN.

"... the seller sent me a tracking number via message. Which means he didn’t use eBay or a secondary ship service to purchase his label."  That doesn't mean that at all.  It only means they purchased the shipping label from a source that doesn't automatically update to Ebay.  It doesn't mean any more than that.

I'm going to tag this post in the hopes that we can get you some help that you need to resolve this matter.

Hey @mam98031! After looking through the details shared throughout the thread what @albertabrightalberta said is correct. We see that in the listing that UPS is the only shipping service offered. Since that is the case and they do not ship to a PO Box, UPS would convert the PO Box address to a physical address that they can ship to. This does not mean that the seller changed the address and it would be the responsibility of the buyer to insure the shipping service selected in their purchase is able to go to the address provided at checkout.

If I am reading this correctly, since you bought from someone selling UPS next time check thoroughly. You messed up and should not have purchased it you only use a PO box. The seller shipped to where YOU said to ship.

Thanks for dropping in on this devon@ebay

A little bit of a hijack, but related to this (in regards to partial refunds)

When an item gets returned to the seller from refused tracking, the seller will be billed for the return shipping automatically in the eBay portal.

First, Is the return shipping cost allowed to be deducted from the partial refund?

If it is allowed, since there is a delay in the billing happening, and you don't know the exact amount of the return shipping.

How do we go about adding the return shipping cost deduction to the partial refund in this situation?

Or if the original shipping cost is 10 dollars, can we just deduct 20 dollars? Even if UPS may calculate the cost a little differently?

Never use your ebay available funds - always a CC. Maybe get payments sent to your bank more often?

Yep, lying is now standard operating procedure.
