The boxes are probably delayed in the mail and they will get there 'eventually'. In the mean time, ebay will extend the delivery window so you won't have to worry about filing an INR and they will probably have a team ready to field neg fb and erase the defects. All part of the new and improved protections.
And then I woke up. Whew, it was just a dream!

You could be right, who knows. I also have been here 22 years but I also buy regularly here so maybe that is why they gave me the $25 ?

The boyfriend just emailed and got this reply back...
"Hello James,
Thank you for reaching out concerning the whereabouts of your eBay 25th anniversary celebration kit. Due to COVID-19 there are safety restrictions at our shipping department that have delayed our celebration kits from being delivered in a timely manner. Unfortunately we are unable to provide the status of your package but we anticipate you should receive it withing the coming weeks. You may not receive the package by next week's party but there is nothing in the kit that is required to join the call.
Regards,
eBay Seller Events Team"
Just an update for those that are like many of us wondering what is going on... Yes it was "free" but it would be nice if eBay practiced the same policies they preach to their sellers. How about a simple update... to their customers... instead of making us go to them. I mean weren't we as sellers advised by eBay to keep our customers informed of any delays or deviations from the norm due to Covid-19. Follow through eBay... follow through!

They DID update the August 3 announcement, as I quoted in my post above -- it still says that you'll get it before the event. No reference at all to delays, or the inadequacies of their planning or their "shipping department."

I read your post above and I am providing an update since eBay seems incapable of informing its sellers. Sure they did update the August 4th announcement... on August 7th... We are now in mid September... It has been over a month. That by no means is an update or keeping their customers informed. The response we received in the email I provided could have just as easily been an update in the seller announcement but instead they would rather leave their customers wondering... Did it get lost in the post (that has been happening a lot lately)... Did it get stolen from the porch... Did the order not go through... Did they cancel it? I think most of us don't mind that it is probably going to show up late we just want to be informed of what is going on. I think most sellers would agree the rub is that eBay has major follow through issues. It is supposed to be under promise and over deliver, not the other way around.
This was their last update (Aug 7th, 2020) as it pertains to this verbatim :
"UPDATE: We've had an amazing response to the event and have now hit our limit for 25th Anniversary gift boxes. If you've already ordered yours, you'll receive it before the Sellerbration. When your special delivery arrives, we hope you'll share your unboxing experience on social media with #ebay25. Be sure to explore ebay25.com to download free digital swag, create your personalized certificate, and more. "

Oh Gracie you got me laughing!

Another really funny one!

You forgot one—If the Ebay mug comes broken because the postal service is throwing around packages and some are ending up in the back of beauty salons in white bags in California, can you request a new one to be lost in the mail?

I guess when I referred to the update of the August 4 announcement, my sarcasm font didn't show up.

Shipping department? Shipping department?? Did the old-timer(s) dose off again?
The part that has me scratching my head is, if they have so many orders that they have run out of packages to ship, why would they say that if you have already ordered, you should get it by the celebration date? I guess the ones that ordered after they ran out will just have to wait for delivery.

I registered in the beginning but have received nothing as yet, and have received not even any email stating that the package is on the way.

eBay doesn't prepare the kits, they come from an independent company. I won a contest here and the prize took 8 weeks to arrive, but that was under normal conditions. I suspect it will take much longer. But who knows, they may start to show up sooner than later.

I got a package today with a t-shirt, but nothing else - unless the rest of it comes separately. I am happy at least something arrived.

I got a package with the eBay shirt and some stickers. That's all
