drop shipping from Amazon is NOT allowed on eBay

I see a lot of misinformation in the eBay Community about drop shipping from Amazon.  Maybe it was allowed before but it is not allowed now, and not just from Amazon, from any retailer.   If you thought you were buying an item directly from an eBay seller and it comes from Amazon or some other retailer, report the seller.  https://www.ebay.com/help/selling/shipping-items/setting-shipping-options/drop-shipping?id=4176

Is the reverse ok?  I have had Amazon sellers copy my listings, markup the price double, then buy one from me and have me drop ship it when ever they sell one.

Re: drop shipping from Amazon is NOT allowed on eBay

Dropshipping from any retailer is not allowed, but Amazon FBA IS allowed.

FBA is where the seller sends THEIR OWN items to Amazon's warehouse. Whenever an item is sold it is shipped from Amazon's warehouse. FBA works across multiple venues. The seller is monetarily vested in those items. They pay Amazon to store and ship their merchandise.

It is totally different from arbitrage dropshipping, where a lazy "seller" lists a bunch of stuff they don't own, then buys it from somewhere else when it's sold. The lazy slugs who do this do not own the items they are selling, they have no money invested, and no relationship with the entity who ships the items.

The easier you are to offend the easier you are to control.

No thanks, I don't report sellers that deliver what they promise.

You can't.

That said, generally (but not always) FBA items will come with a regular invoice or packing slip that shows the price of the item. Purchases from a misused Prime account (i.e. lazy dropshipper) will have a gift receipt - "A gift from blah blah" with no item price.

The easier you are to offend the easier you are to control.

Re: drop shipping from Amazon is NOT allowed on eBay

Recently I have been purchasing fairly large quantities of shipping supplies on eBay. Some have been delivered the very next day. One group purchased around 5 in the evening on Saturday before Easter arrived on Easter Sunday at around 2:30 p.m.  The price I paid was low, I got my stuff the next day, eBay got their commission, seller made a few bucks, I hope Amazon made money also.  What is wrong with this?  It was a fantastic transaction and I would not dream of reporting this seller to eBay. My plan is to buy more from them.

As a seller, I have done a few consignment sales for friends where I have open ended ability to control the pricing and have zero investment in the item. I would never sell anything that is not physically in my possession, but I think a person wanting to avoid competition could make the leap to see consignment sales as drop shipping and me as lazy because I don't have any investment in the item.

Re: drop shipping from Amazon is NOT allowed on eBay

The rules for drop shipping on Ebay have NOT recently changed.  Ebay is just getting more active in enforcing them.

Sellers must have an AGREEMENT with their wholesalers PRIOR to a sale on Ebay.

Or if the seller on Ebay has some stock sitting in Amazon FBA, they can ship it from that as it is the seller's stock.  But NOT from some other seller's FBA at Amazon.  This can get a bit tricking and buyer's will not be able to tell if sellers that use inventory from Amazon are shipping within the Ebay rules or not.

Re: drop shipping from Amazon is NOT allowed on eBay

I'm looking for a definitive answer on this as well.

Amazon sellers who do this have a high return rate. Amazon buyers are very picky and return stuff for any reason. When returns happen, the Ebay seller absorbs all the cost in shipping and the Amazon seller takes no hit. It's just unfair. This Ebay to Amazon arbirage shouldn't be allowed by Amazon or Ebay.

I recycle a great deal of my packing material.  I'd hate to be reported for drop shipping when I'm just trying to be environmentally conscious.  😕   ...(and somewhat cheap)

When I reuse packaging, I peel the labels off and turn the box inside out.

i recycle all packing materials i can.  i wonder tho, if you reused an amazo box but stuck an ebay mailing sticker on it over the amazo name, u know those cute ones ebay's trying to get us to use? ... anyway ... would it mean that ebay trumps amazo?

.... guess i need to buy another bag of ice for my slushpuppies 😄

Re: drop shipping from Amazon is NOT allowed on eBay

I think eBay should establish goon squads to come to our homes and make sure than we are only listing items we have in our inventory.  Maybe even have an appraiser from eBay in the squad to make sure that you are listing any conditions, sizes, or colors correctly. While in your home, they could also make sure that you are disease free, have never smoked or had pets,  are well organized, and keep your home up to their standards.

If you are found lacking in any area, you could still be allowed to list on eBay, but only if you agree to higher fees for life. You should also have to agree to establish an escrow account in the amount of 10X your average annual sales in case you ever get a return.

If you ever sell an item at a discount or sell an item that increases in value over the next 36 months, including shipping costs, you should be subject to the fees on the increased value.  If you ever purchase anything from Amazon or another online site you should be subject to a 25% penalty payable to eBay for your disloyalty.  Let's all work together and find new fees and revenue streams for eBay.

Re: drop shipping from Amazon is NOT allowed on eBay

Any seller reported to eBay for this kind of activity (buying or selling!) should have a bright red logo attached to all of their listings to identify them as a rule breaker.  Even if you have ever just had thoughts of such things you should repent and turn yourself into eBay Trust & Security.  Get counseling while there is still time to turn your life around!
