correlation or coincidence?

I posted a thread last month on some great customer service I received from eBay and my sales greatly improved.  I was up from the last 30 days and was WAY up over last year.  Then I posted a thread this week on getting charged insertion fees plus being charged store listings with no help from eBay.  After that, my sale took a turn for the worst.  Now my arrows are red instead of green, sales are down.  Ghost town here with very little activity.  Correlation or coincidence?  Has anybody has this same experience?  Just in case it's true...I love selling on eBay but my old knees are getting sore from jumping through all the hoops.

I LOOOOOOVE Devin Wenig so much I want him to be the godfather to my children. Bring on them sales!

Thought I'd report back at the end of the day. I've been monitoring my sales all day but didn't want to count my chickens too early. The entire day had a very consistent strong rate of sales. No dip at all and in the end it's one of the higher day of sales I've done this year.

So yea... you know... I'm just sayin'. 😉

That is good to hear.  You are a much larger seller than many of us here, but it is always good to know that sales are picking up.  August is typically my slowest month of the year.

I think because it might be due to the fact that there's a lot of things going on in August for most people. Lots of vacations and prepping/transitioning into a new school year. It'll pass soon for you.

Re: correlation or coincidence?

Yep, for all those reasons.  I've been here a long time and it has held true for me for most years.

If one believed that that his posting activity was being watched closely by eBay and was provoking retaliation from them, some might suggest that is either be narcissism or paranoia.

Re: correlation or coincidence?

With no sales for no reason, anything can be true. Half of July was typical summer month with some drop, but nothing major like After July 19.

Called eBay in the morning today to check on my account (never had to call eBay with a question why I don`t have any sales until today, and why Traffic only shown through August 3 on August 8). She checked everything and said that there is no issues with account, and, after checking with some other rep, said that Traffic gets updated on a weekly base - at least that is out of my conspiracy theory, will see on the 10th if that is the case).

And some might suggest that it was just a question.

 The rooster crowed.

Then the sun rose.

Therefore, the rooster caused the sun to rise.

Re: correlation or coincidence?

It's a nice coincidence, and I hope sales will pick up for all of us soon.
