does anybody else get frustrated when ebay is asking for specifics on your item such as brand or type and you look down this long list only to find the item you have is not on that list so you end up putting unbranded or for an example I listed a pair of loafers the other day and I had to put another option down that was kind of close because loafers wasn't on the list. so I have been putting very specific details in descriptions so people can see right off what I am selling in order to work around it. it's very annoying because if you don't put all this stuff down you can't proceed with your listing.

Hi @valpelc-0
I just enter what the industry refers to the item as ... you should be able to enter Loafers in the Item Specific field by typing it in.
Is "Slip ons" on the list? I've seen lots of commercials for slip on sneakers ... this is 2024 and maybe they changed the term.
How to you list ladies shoes that slip on and have no latch or tie strings?

I never get "frustrated" because those specifics are important to people who search for quality merchandise. And there are many.
Meantime, you have the option of selling on FB or CL.
My hope is that eBay tightens things up even further for sellers on this platform. (I just discovered this morning that a seller can add junk text to specific auto parts fields that should be immune to same, if for no other reason that that is the standard in 2024 for respectable online selling platforms. )

Certain items require item specifics. I would go as far as requiring specifics and when they are not filled out, the item would be listed for parts/repair. Know what you are doing, so others know what they are getting.

If loafers was not in the list, couldn't you add it?

I can usually just enter my info in the blank box. I seldom scroll through those long lists.
