Lately, many of my buyers are not leaving feedback for me. I work very hard making sure I mail packages immediately. I go out of my way to save the buyer shipping charges & often when they have paid too much shipping, I will refund or include the cash in their package. I wrap packages very well. How can I get my buyer leave feedback? Even when I contact them to see if they were happy with their purchase & they respond saying yes, they still do not leave feedback? Is this a new trend on eBay? Does anyone else have this problem? Can you please help me know what to do? Thank you.

You've received more feedback than you've given out. I wonder what your buyers think about that.

The one thing that causes more buyers to leave feedback is when more sellers leave feedback.
As a seller, I do all I can to help other sellers to get more feedback.
With all due respect, Phan, I beg to differ.
All sellers will get more feedback is your statement. You state facts show this. What facts? Because countless threads have stated that even though the seller leaves positive feedback when buyer pays, buyer does not reciprocate and post feedback for them. Logic dictates that just because a seller leaves for a buyer, while the buyer MIGHT leave the seller feedback, as the posts here prove, buyers leaving feedback is WAY DOWN, no matter HOW much feedback the sellers leave, they come up with far less.
Seller feedback posted by buyers has significantly gone down, as evidenced by the OP and other posters on this thread. There wouldn't be numerous threads on this very subject from sellers who are frustrated with non responsive, no feedback posting buyers.
So the statement, the one thing that cause more buyers to leave feedback is when sellers leave feedback, is erroneous. Reality often shows it doesn't matter if the seller leaves feedback first, buyer often chooses not to bother. Percentages of 35% or 50% don't encourage the interpretation that the buyer will post if the seller posts first. While they certainly might, overall across the board does not prove that to be the case.
Just some observations.
You misunderstood what I said. I'm sorry that I did not state it clear enough.
I did not say that buyers would leave more feedback for a given seller if the seller left more feedback.
ALL sellers will get more feedback when more sellers leave feedback. That is a not an opinion - it is a proven fact.
I leave feedback for my customers to help OTHER sellers get more feedback.
Phan,
Wait, you said you post feedback so the buyer doesn't think they did something wrong!
While you did not say a particular seller would get more feedback, your blanket statement was and I copied and pasted this from your earlier post.
The one thing that causes more buyers to leave feedback is when more sellers leave feedback.
And that has been demonstrated as a false statement because the facts show that buyer feedback does not keep pace with seller feedback as sellers get less feedback than they post.
Sorry but that is the fact.
It stands to reason that even if a seller posts feedback for every customer, they are NOT going to receive feedback from every buyers. Read the OP and other posts in this thread again and you will see that is true.
We can agree to disagree.

I agree,leaving feedback first for buyers dosen,t help/work
i'm not sure ebay buyers know that we are independent sellers, maybe they assume we all work for ebay( i mean we do,in a sense)?
I think most would agree with your statement as well.
Key word regarding feedback is voluntary. Neither party has to leave it.
Years ago, when feedback really was feedback and not a thank you for the buyer, buyers posted indicating they received their item and all was well. Seller then posted their impression of the transaction. Possibly more feedback was left back then because the buyer had not received their feedback and so to get that feedback, they posted feedback for the seller.
Now that it is expected to post buyer feedback right after they pay, that incentive is removed. That could be why sellers are posting for buyers but most are not returning the favor.
Just some thoughts.

Hi, Phan:
Bless your heart! That is very altruistic of you!

The only way to advance is through the feedback recieved right? How is this possible if none is left?

Advance how? All more feedback gets you is a different colored star.

Feedback doesn’t advance you. Not in any way. Successful transactions do, even if you don’t get feedback.
