automated feedback

There's something I don't understand about automated feedback.
Does the buyer sign it, or does eBay sign it?

What if eBay signs positive and the buyer negative?

If the buyer leaves feedback it replaces the automatic feedback.

Automatic feedback is submitted by eBay, not the buyer. The buyer has the option to leave feedback which would then replace the automatic feedback.

You can see exactly what it looks like by examining your most recent feedback received.

It says "eBay automated feedback" under the "From" line.

In ways I could tolerate automatic feedback as a buyer, too. Please don't get me wrong but as a prolific buyer I find feedback to be a chore, something I have to do that I don't get paid for... And I do it for the sellers because I understand both sides of this coin but that doesn't mean I necessarily enjoy doing it.

I don't see how this makes sense.

I think it's a bunch of hooey!   When I'm buying, I look at the % rating and don't necessarily read the reviews.   Recently I read some of the reviews AFTER I had made the purchase on someone with 100% rating, and noted that one said it was an Amazon drop shipped item.   Sure enough, when the item came, it came from Amazon.   I learned a valuable lesson to double check other places on new items, because I'm also an Amazon Prime member and would have saved a few dollars.   I left a neutral feedback and why, and then noticed that most of the sellers feedback were eBay generated.   I had not even realized that is a thing, until today.

Then the buyers negative overrides eBay positive like it never existed.

This is a posting/buying ID

My seller ID has over 50,000 feedbacks

Both as a seller and a buyer I used to religiously leave FB but since they changed the FB page so it's not in chronological order and now I can't even see if it was delivered or not, I haven't been leaving it as often as I used to.

You can't even tell if an order was cancelled.
