Unless videos come with some sort of enhanced seller protection, I'm sticking to photos.

Exactly.  There are nothing but complaints about the video option.  It seems to be neglected on ebay's part.  I'm with you...photos.

I've been trying to figure out the usefulness of video for a seller of stamps or books.
I think the software guys heard that some sellers video themselves packing and mailing shipments and completely misunderstood?

For the Terrible Horrible No Good Very Bad latest iteration of the Selling form, there is a workaround.

Take one of your existing listings, hit Sell Similar, scroll down to the bottom of the form and click of Save as Template.

Then when you go to make a new listing, rather than the THNGVB form , use the template.

We got/get that note on our ids that have been switched back to the good ... I mean classic lister/relister, as ebay seems to be fixing/changing/repairing the new piece of ... I mean the new unifrying one.

One ID got switched 'back' to the 'now with improvements' new unifying one and it's a bit different then the old 'before the improvements' new unifying one. Notice an 'add dimensions' link on the 'new, new really unified this time' one, and it forces us to enter dimensions to get the small flat rate box to show on list. No dimensions entered we get everything but the small box.

Going 'side by side' with the id that has had the original new one for weeks, we really haven't noticed any other changes.

Video has become popular on other selling platforms, so eBay is struggling to implement it here.

Well, they don't answer the phone anymore, so they have to do something to keep busy.

Sorry that you are now on the list to get switched over to the unified listing tool- enjoy the classic as much as you can before they eliminate the option to go back.

I have been vocal here about the listing tool because its mobile phone app design does not translate to a good desktop experience well at all.  I did see the update that added a few more buttons to the main flow like the new/used condition & the dimensions and free shipping etc.  An improvement for sure but its still years away from being efficient or practical.

I will say that I am getting used to it.....but like you get used to using crutches when your leg is broken.

I can at least list now without with out wanting to jump out of a window, but it still needs allot of improvements.

Basically all of the popup menus NEED  to go. They just add extra clicks to everything and are distracting- takes you out of the work flow.

Forcing us to click 2x for confirmation that we want to change the font or color is COMPLETELY unacceptable and disrespectful of our time

Obviously there are already stability issues and they need to be addressed

Simply put- anytime the design forces us to leave the page to do a simple task like select the condition or add a handling charge or add dimensions- its a giant waste of time and a distraction. all of these SHOULD be simple editable fields right on the main page

This design effectively hides all the options and features and forces a user to wonder if they are even there and if so- where are they , making a seller start clicking and searching to see where a programmer decided to put it.

The more i use it, i do feel that it will be workable moving forward but a major overall is needed to get there. Mobile is for phones- NOT desktops / once they design with that in mind we should be OK.

I miss Turbo Lister sooooo much.

Listing was so much easier for me back in the Turbo Lister days.

I've left many hundreds, if not a thousand bad reviews for the "new" tool. I'm sure all that does is make the developers of the new tool thing they did a great job.

You will never find a more wretched hive of scum and villainy. We must be cautious.

I think what ebay really means is " hopefully we've worked out the glitches in this version".  However new on ebay always seems to mean even more glitches.

The stability issue is what gets me - I can live with the rest of it fine.  DON'T change the title in mid-stream, whatever you do! It dumps out several unrelated IS's and eliminates any seller created IS's so you have to do them all over again. I know why this happens but it's so ham-handed. Automation is a nice thing, but it has to be done right.
