I have a $35,000 sports card listed. I shouldn't even look at a zero feedback offer, correct? eBay is no help. They can't even see the address.

You can't block a zero feedback buyer, but you can decline their offer (then block if it makes you nervous I guess.)
Frankly, you should not be selling a $35k item online, not here, not anywhere. The risk of losing it all is greater than you realize.

Scammers go after high value items. You make sale and customer could open return request (switch cards). Or customer could just get chargeback with their credit card. You have no protection.

@thekatester
Remove the best offer and require immediate payment, that will get rid of most scammers.

Either way, I can pretty much guarantee this is not going to end well. I see a SNAD with the ol' switcheroo in the OP's future.

You leave that card on offer here and I guarantee you will lose it. Some scammer will get it, claim not as described and return an old post card to you. Ebay will side with the buyer and refund the buyer's $35K out of your money.
You would be better off selling to a dealer or else find a high end auction house to consign it to.

Personally, I would be going to a specialty auction site with that kind of value. Look up a few well-known high value cards and see where they were last sold.
Or ask the company that certified the card for advice.
EBay is great for general collectors, but once we get into the high end the situation becomes ... nuanced.
You might also consider opening the auction to Canadian buyers. There are 37 million hockey fans here, and there is still a lot of oil money in Alberta.

I agree with another poster here. This is not the proper venue to sell a card of that value. I'd find an auction house that specializes in high end sports collectibles. Also ensure you thoroughly check them out before you consign it. You can't just stick something in the mail like that. Sell it here and it is an almost certainty that you will lose you item and still have to pay all associated fees. Best to cancel the listing due to an error in the listing.

You are in no position to be selling anything of that value on Ebay. There are other venues that verify buyers before an auction begins. Due some due diligence before it is too late.

2 pieces of advice I have:
1. If you even have to ask this question, then you should decline and block the buyer.
2. Don't EVER sell anything on eBay you can't afford to be scammed out of.

take that card to heritage auctions or sothebys or somebody. you sell that card here youd better have $35,000 worth of insurance on it . like they say a fool and his money are soon departed. dont be that fool please

In a week we will see a new post "Buyer scammed me out of expensive item what can I do???"
Some people are so eager for a buck they do not stop and take great advice and stop and think hard about the situation
Oh well........ 🙄

I would never sell a expensive item like yours on Ebay. Go to a reputable auction house or something. Scammers will be swarming like the vultures that they are
