Zero Help from eBay on DELIVERED Items and Case Opening

Every single time I get a case open my sales plummet. CS claims this is not something they do but we all know that is false/a lie they are told to tell us.

Right now I have my 4th case opened in the past 3 weeks from someone trying to get their money back on items sent insured and delivered per the tracking. Rather than eBay having them reach out to their local post office, they are instructed by the app to open a case. So now here I am, someone who usually gets between 150-300 in sales a day at a measly $20 per day for the past 3 days due to this case being opened for something that is confirmed delivered. I am done refunding customers for items when they are clearly scamming.

When a buyer opens an INR, you upload the tracking number to the claim. When I get one (very rarely) I add in the comments the address on the order and when it was delivered (I cut and paste directly from the USPS site)

Never does this get escalated.. Not sure why @digital_monster_deals is getting dinged. He has 100% feedback, too

Even if it were to get escalated and the tracking shows delivered, the seller will win if they followed the rules for qualifying for Seller Protection.

The only exception that I know of is if the buyer proves the seller did not ship it to their address but someone else in their same zip code.

This is your imagination not fact.  You are NOT losing sales due to an INR being opened as many posters here have told you.  But if you want to give away your money, it is your right to do so.

I think everyone is missing the point here. I know to upload the tracking, the fact that I even have to go through this when its purchased from eBay and shows delivered is part of the problem. The other part is the sales decline that is very noticeable whenever there is a case opened. And the reason why I have had so many in the past few weeks is because 1. Pokemon, and 2. Pokemon scammers.

You are simply mistaken about the sales.  If they do drop it is for a different reason.  Open cases do NOT affect a seller in ANY way on anything.

Is selling Pokemon a recent addition for you?  If not, how many of your Pokemon shipments have issues with INRs?

So you prefer to just refund these scammers.  No wonder they pick you to buy from.

Re: Zero Help from eBay on DELIVERED Items and Case Opening

I have never had an item lost last year. "Knock on wood". I usually don't use tracking. I use a .66 stamp.

You are using an eBay standard envelope. I assume you are inputing tracking so a buyer can see it.

When buyer sees tracking where item doesn't show as "delivered"....buyer will ask for a refund. Some buyers are not honest. eBay sees the tracking and sometimes the buyer can see it...and if buyer cannot see item as "delivered"...but has it...some ask for a refund.

Here's the thing : you basically sell similar items and thus you are looking for "repeat buyers". When an item is lost or missing you lose that repeat buyer...so yes...that could affect your sales.

Or these eBay standard envelopes...some...might actually get lost...really hard to say...these envelopes are considered "meter mail".Meter Mail.jpeg

I come here when I need to vent, to rant, when I need a shoulder to cry on. Just a little bit of moral support.

Exactly my point, they should be contacting the USPS, not opening a case with eBay. USPS has the ability to track packages way better than I ever could.

Re: Zero Help from eBay on DELIVERED Items and Case Opening

It is almost easier to refund the smaller Pokemon scammers than to deal with negative feedback, etc. from them. All 8 of my cases from the past 2 years are all Pokemon related, 6 of which show delivered but they claimed not to receive them. And no the past 4, including this one, I stopped refunding them. Anyone who sells in this space knows the deal. I do still think, no matter how many say to the contrary, that opened cases hurt sales.

Also, the fact that you are quickly refunding implies the claims are justified, and maybe eBay see's this as a HIGH rate of INR's for the time period (this still does not affect visibility but you may get defects)

Stop refunding and answer these claims so they close in YOUR favour.

Re: Zero Help from eBay on DELIVERED Items and Case Opening

Refunding does not affect the metric.

Found in sellers favor does not affect the metric.

An INR is an INR, and no matter the result it counts as an INR  when a seller is compared to their "peers".

You seem to misunderstand how this works.  If you uploaded your tracking, shipped within your stated handling time, you are covered by Seller Protection.  Seller protection on INRs has always been a strong policy on Ebay.

When a buyer files an INR and if the tracking shows delivered, it is highly likely you will win that INR.  When a seller wins the INR, the buyer can't leave negative FB.
