Zero Help from eBay on DELIVERED Items and Case Opening

Every single time I get a case open my sales plummet. CS claims this is not something they do but we all know that is false/a lie they are told to tell us.

Right now I have my 4th case opened in the past 3 weeks from someone trying to get their money back on items sent insured and delivered per the tracking. Rather than eBay having them reach out to their local post office, they are instructed by the app to open a case. So now here I am, someone who usually gets between 150-300 in sales a day at a measly $20 per day for the past 3 days due to this case being opened for something that is confirmed delivered. I am done refunding customers for items when they are clearly scamming.

The algorithm does factor this in, as well as negatives and neutrals.  It factors in any negative thing that happens on your account.

I have never seen a noticeable effect on my sales when I have a case opened against me.

I'm not saying that has not happened to you, I'm just saying it may not be as dramatic and universal as you seem to suggest.

If you have proof of delivery there is NO WAY you have had to give a refund.

When the case was opened did you respond to the case and enter the tracking number along with a note that tracking shows it was delivered. That is a guaranteed closing of the case in your favor. NO REFUND.

@digital_monster_deals

The mere fact a claim is opened does not affect your placement in search returns UNLESS you have too many of them and you are in trouble in your Service Metric numbers.

CS was correct.  They are not "lying" to you.  Because you don't agree with them doesn't mean they are not telling you the truth.

Ebay has EXCELLENT Seller Protection on INR claims if you follow the rules.  INRs are the easiest to win.  All you need to do is enter the tracking number into the INR claim and it will run its course.  If your tracking shows delivered, Ebay will close it in your favor in just a few days.  Problem solved.

IDK why you would even consider refunding this buyer.  You may want to learn the rules and what your rights are as clearly you have some misunderstandings, so you may have refunded stuff in the past that you simply did not need to just because you weren't aware of the rules.

Where did you get this information?

Not all of us.  I don't know this.

Why so many cases against you? I may get 4 cases in a year.

If your tracking shows the item was delivered, you don't have to refund them. What are you doing wrong?

@digital_monster_deals

Are you using your tracking numbers to show the items were delivered? You should be off the hook if you are.

Re: Zero Help from eBay on DELIVERED Items and Case Opening

You are not an inexperienced seller.

If you are using tracking on every item you ship and are posting that tracking # to every case of INR that is opened, you are following eBay's rules, so why is this an issue?

You are claiming that the INR cases are causing your sales to go down? How? Unless the buyer who opened the case is also trashing your FB, how would a potential buyer know about these cases?

Re: Zero Help from eBay on DELIVERED Items and Case Opening

Your INR cases have exactly a zero reason for low sales. Other buyers don’t have a clue about it and why would eBay stop your sales because you had a few INRs. It’s purely coincidence.

I’ve had cases open my sales never diminished because of them.

By the way if you are not uploading tracking proving delivery you won’t win.
Even though you may have purchased labels with tracking on eBay they aren’t entered into any cases, this has to be done by you.

Re: Zero Help from eBay on DELIVERED Items and Case Opening

When a buyer opens an INR, you upload the tracking number to the claim. When I get one (very rarely) I add in the comments the address on the order and when it was delivered (I cut and paste directly from the USPS site)

Never does this get escalated.. Not sure why @digital_monster_deals is getting dinged. He has 100% feedback, too

I know that, but I would rather refund a $20 item then lose $150+ sales per day as it remains open.

I think everyone is missing the point here. I know to upload the tracking, the fact that I even have to go through this when its purchased from eBay and shows delivered is part of the problem. The other part is the sales decline that is very noticeable whenever there is a case opened. And the reason why I have had so many in the past few weeks is because 1. Pokemon, and 2. Pokemon scammers.

eBay allows this for a reason.

First, because eBay knows that not all packages that are scanned as "delivered" are actually delivered correctly, and they want the buyer to feel like they have an option besides "tough luck".

Second, because some sellers actually offer customer service and try to help the buyer locate the package in this situation, even when they know they could just respond and win the case.

My sales decline every time my mom makes pot roast.

Purely a coincidence.
