Starting July 17th, my impressions for my listings plummeted to record lows. I'm just now noticing people on Youtube including big verified creators are now talking about this problem. You're getting comments with THOUSANDS of likes supporting contacting the investors of eBay regarding what's going on with the site. People are getting beyond fed up of the near DAILY problems with this site and this two week stretch of barren impressions is finally making people get fed up.
This is not a case of sellers who don't know what they're doing. You're having people with hundreds or even thousands of listings and years of experience suddenly getting 1-2 sales a day or none at all. They're now all scrambling to crosslist or even stop eBay store subscriptions because it's not paying for itself anymore. Sometimes they receive no sales for days at time while other platforms are behaving normally. I expect summer slowdowns but this is the absolute worst I've ever seen eBay in a decade and it's becoming increasingly obvious it isn't just the economy.

I don't understand why people attack the posters. We are all entitled to our opinions and have a right to post them here. That's what a community board is - for communication. The OP is just stating their opinion on this apparent problem that many others have also stated.

Does it really matter? Shaming others because they make a grammar mistake doesn't do anything for me. A preacher stated something to me once. Remember that most people are doing the best they can in life. Don't knock them down.

I don't understand why you attack the OP or the Youtuber personally. Why? You are here to make money just like the Youtuber. The content should be your only concern. Otherwise, you just assume as you do not know this person. You have sold one item per your feedback in the past 12 months. I would assume that James has sold more than you, thus is more experienced in what he speaks of on eBay. I am positive anyone else would agree too. You have very little experience in this post, yet you personally attack the poster or James.

The OP and James, I don't know them and don't have a problem with them.
The YouTuber in the OP, I have had a little dealing with him off of Ebay and we had a little disagreement about an issue and know a little about what he's like.
I don't know James, never watched his videos or visited his site, but I know why people make YouTube videos and that is to make money from them.
Right, I've only sold 1 item this year, but I haven't really done much on Ebay for the last three years.
I don't depend on Ebay for money, but do feel sorry for the ones that do and not selling anything.

Thanks, but it really didn't bother me. I don't mind being corrected either.
But, to your point, I'm always living my best life...doing the best I can is the only way I know.

I wasn't going to say anything to him but anyone that's selling random vintage Happy Meal toys and Avon collectable perfume bottles are not serious resellers and have little understanding about the current market. (Avon collectables being a classic 'newbies trap' along with collectable plates and other items marketed as being collectable at thrift stores.)
James was talking about people dismissing his evidence in a video and it's frequently from low performing sellers with no real skin in the game. I'm glad bigger Youtubers are talking about this because they can create enough smoke in the air for news outlets to start asking questions.

@chapeau-noir wrote:Again, all of that is hypothetical - we have no way of knowing exactly what eBay's intentions were with this apparent test since they have not bothered to answer any questions or engage with sellers on this issue.
It's an interesting hypothesis and tracks, particularly since eBay has been fiddling with ad presentation. So does the above ^^ eBay, like most sites, runs continual tests on subsets of sellers/buyers, but they could be more communicative about those which have so much impact on day-to-day sales data instead of leaving people in the dark.
@chapeau-noir better late than never? 😂
One of the UK blues has confirmed there was testing going on July 18-28 that would have impacted PL Impressions and that users may have seen a "different experience" during that time.

There was some testing of new features which affected impressions. Testing on Promoted listings took place between 18th and 28th July and during this time some of our members may have noticed a different experience.
This has now been completely stopped and the impressions will return to their normal patterns.
We have been passing all the feedback from this thread to the promoted listings team and your feedback will help shape future updates.
