Hello, the buyer requested to cancel the order, the funds are on hold, it says that message when I try to cancel "Your refund did not go through. Please add a payment option to refund the buyer" I have an option to add my credit card... This means I will spend my own money to refund the seller??? I dnt Wanna touch my money.. Ebay should release the funds back to buyer.

Yes. It's bogus but nothing new around here.
It doesn't surprise me at all when I see eBay doing something like this. What does surprise me every time is how much misinformation is peddled on these posts. With impunity. Followed up by excuses and justifications and even outright lies. It's tiresome. This community is supposed to help you but only about half of the people here are truly interested in helping other sellers. Some aren't sellers at all.

Your fee's will be refunded.
The only thing you'll loose is the nonrefundable $0.30.

No, this is false.
eBay intends to charge 30 cents to the card. It's not going to be paid back at any point. The buyer funds will be sent straight back to the buyer in full.
ebay will take 30 cents from the seller by charging their credit card for it.
Now, there's this whole 'but you agreed to this' and 'where will poor old eBay get their 30 cents' argument that will likely be invoked once those who already answered this question fallaciously backtrack to pretend like they knew about this all along.
But the unethical thing is to hold a buyer requested cancellation hostage. It's just so poorly handled by ebay...and for what. 30 cents? It's pathetic.
The OPs funds are on hold because they are considered a new seller.
Until, the hold is released, nothing can be done with them.
The OP refunds the buyer, then when the buyers payment is released off the hold, the funds will be sent to the OP.

No. This is false. It has been discussed at length in other threads if you need to get educated I can send you a link. Let me know.

That's what the credit card is for.
You'd know this if you had been through it.

There is a difference between the funds being processed and the funds being held for new sellers.

I've done a couple refunds since I've been here and I know how it works.

irrelevant to the question OP asked.
They ask for a credit card and hold a cancellation hostage so they can get their 30 cents. That's it. Has nothing to do with 'new sellers'. I've been selling here for years and I had to do it. Nor were my funds 'on hold'. they just want their 30 cents
Do you even sell anymore? You obviously have not had to deal with this so I don't get why you are being obstinate.

Clearly not the case. Please stop spreading misinformation.

Why have I never had to provide a credit card to cover the .30 on any of my refunds? I truly don’t understand your attitude when obviously all refund situations are not equal.

The fact you haven't had to do it illustrates you don't have any experience dealing with the question at hand.
If you have no knowledge of something, why do you consider yourself an expert on the matter? Let those of us who have had to deal with it answer.

I never claimed I was an expert. That’s why I asked the question. Why are my refunds different? Why is your refunding experience different than mine? I certainly have had refunds, so my knowledge isn’t zero.
