Thought I'd post a little "win" today. Customer bought an item that was "For parts or not working" then opened a return because the item didn't work. Contacted eBay CSR, explained the situation, they viewed the conversation between me and customer, and it was resolved without me having to refund.
I though all returns were guaranteed money loss. You can "win" FPoNW return cases.
YMMV
Cheers!

It sounds like customer service issued the buyer a courtesy refund.
Don't expect that to happen every time. It won't.

Although the CSR 'told you' you won- is the 'return case' officially closed (you got a message from ebay and that 'case' is NO longer showing?)

Nothing short of miraculous.
So what do we conclude from this?
That real human beings are being re-installed in CS positions at eBay HQ?

Its because when you list an item for parts/not working, and the buyer files an INAD for an item not working/defective, they've just confirmed you listed the item accurately and correctly, so they basically negate their own complaint by confirming you sent them an item exactly as you described.

No. That's not how it works.
