Buyer orders 5/21, we ship same day. Delivered on 5/24 per USPS.
Buyer files chargeback tonight stating "does not recognize transaction". Buyer is also a seller, selling similar items.
To respond to the dispute, all you can do now as a Seller is enter the tracking, which indeed shows delivered.
There is no box or anything to add anything additional. Last one we had was 2-3 years ago and we dealt with Paypal who found in our favor as it showed delivered.
This is MP. Does Buyer automatically win in this scenario? What now?

I bought a big box of older Legos thinking I could sell them here but I'm rather afraid to given all the fraud among people who buy them.
Nothing stops you from buying back part of your set, you know, for investigative purposes.

It has crossed my mind. Torn a little on that - but tempted.
I don't have any more of the largest set left, but the mini-figs are the same as the 2 smaller sets I have. I just hate to give this loser any more of money as I doubt e-bay is going to help me or care.
Others have suggested that what is good for the goose, the gander should experience as well. I get mad and I am unhappy, but I am not a retaliatory person, as a rule. With my luck, it would be me that got the short-end again or ended up suspended or both.
I have zero faith in e-Bay these days to work to support a Seller. Have no choice now but to wait 30 days and see what happens next. Just sux. (I'll just hope kathy karma does her job and he gets his in spades)

I am so sorry!
I can't even imagine how angry & disgusted I would be-
The audacity it takes to list the items they're trying to scam from you is astounding..
I wonder if they have any low prices items for sale.. Just to test the quality of their service..
I hope & pray you win this one!!
This is terrifying and infuriating at the same time.

Sold an item that buyer claimed was a factory paint flub underneath the item. (Model Car) My auction terms clearly state I'm not responsible for factory imperfections because the box is factory sealed and the item is one of a kind and long sold out. Offered buyer a 20% refund to buy touch up paint even though I didn't have to. Buyer refused and opened up a return even though I do not take returns and Ebay's system allowed him to do so. I contacted Ebay by phone and they appeared to side with me. Buyer then opened an official dispute 'not as described' allowing Ebay to decide the outcome just as I did. Ebay sided with me on the dispute and the buyer was forced to keep the item. Buyer then went to his credit card company for a charge back. The money was debited from me, no questions asked and when I tried to appeal stating Ebay had sided with me in his first dispute, but there was no way to appeal the decision. I also inquired about the return of the item but NO REPLY..the buyer got to keep the item TOO!!! so to answer you question about charge backs....think yourself as a turtle on his back because the credit card company will side with their cardholder 100% of the time. Another immense flaw in the system that's supposed to protect sellers. Uh huh.

You have the buyers address as well as his seller ID. Hang onto those. As others pointed out what is good for the goose is good for the gander. There are multiple ways to recover from this financially. Those should not be that difficult to figure out just by reading some of the posts on this board or searching on Google.

Good advice. Thx
This nimrod of a Buyer left me "glowing FB" tonight - says I am the best seller. WTH? And all of the original groupings of mini-figs have sold. Does this guy scam so much he can't keep track of who to give FB to and who to not? No response to my email about the chargeback, but I get glowing FB.
I did learn one thing from all this - breaking open the large lego sets and selling all the carp individually nets you a heck of a lot more than selling the stupid set intact. Cripes have I been doing this all wrong. He sells all parts all the way to the manuals and piles of colored blocks, not just mini-fig groupings.

I feel bad for you. You seem to be having a rash of bad luck lately with buyers. I had a not recognized transaction a few months back. There may be times that Ebay may do a courtesy refund on these, not sure, if the CC company, Dang those people, just go ahead and honor this BOGUS chargeback. Even on PP these chargebacks are a complete pain in the behind.

Omar from ebay can only tell you that becuase once these horrible buyers cry to their CC company it do completely out of ebay’s Hands regarding the decision. Omar can not tell you for sure if they might do a courtesy refund if you account in excellent.

On my bogus chargeback, I either had somebody who was using someone else’s card to purchase something, or the actual sneaky buyer pulling a fast one on me. If it helps at all. I promptly messaged that user and asked what the heck was going on. I got a rash of evidence from that really dumb buyer when I continued to message them about what happened. They actually incriminated themselves in a way with how they responded. Lo and behold after I told them that they needed to return this item, they did. But I told them I would investigate for fraud.

Let’s just hope this buyer has gone to the feeding trough one too many times and the CC company will drop them like a hot potatoe.

Most (not all) of our issues have been with higher dollar lego sets. That rodeo is over for me on this site. Should have learned my lesson sooner.
Mini-Figs are big business evidently (my kids are college age so no one here covets these sets any more).
If you search for lego mini-figs, it is eye opening. We had dinner tonight with friends and they told us (they're both mgrs at a local retail chain) that people buy legos and steal just the bags with the mini-figs and return the sets to the store saying they were "missing" from the sealed sets. They had to quit putting out lego displays in the store as people stole from those also. They both said people pretty much steal anything. They caught a guy last week putting clearance stickers on high-end meat.
We spent the majority of our dinner talking about how common place theft has become - it's everywhere.
Just really hard for me to accept that there is not really anything I/we can do to change the trajectory of all of this. If you wish to sell here - it can be lollipops and unicorns one day and a sandbox full of scorpions the next.

It really should not be a consequence of selling online of these CC companies would charge their practices and stop 100 percent defending the card holder for bogus chargebacks. This may be an up and coming trend and getting worse and worse. DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT.

YES/ yOU ARE CORRECT. The one I had was sent back to me return to sender becuase the theif sent it to the wrong address.

I think they may be doing a good job here on these for sellers.

So why does this not feel like a Victory???
