Good morning Gentlemen,
This week I Ended over 30 items to shift them to a different venue. I had a Buyer message me on one of my remaining Active listings asking about one of those Ended items. We exchanged several messages and while they were interested in buying the item I explained that it is no longer available on eBay and was being moved elsewhere but did not say where.
This weekend I plan to change the format on the Active item by ending it's GTC format and switching to Auction format.
My concern is ending the Active item with Messages and eBay charging FVFs with the assumption that the item is being sold OFF the site. While I hope this does not happen, I realize that it could ... my account is now in Managed Payments so if this were to happen what are the proper steps to get the credit for the FVFs?

If you are ending the item and just switching it to Auction.......why would they assume it's off e bay sale? I mean it's still for sale....
If it should happen, the only thing to do is call customer service........

I don't know how quickly they review Ended items with messages for that Off-site sales thing they became more aggressive with last year. I am also trying to remember if the Item number changes when an item is Ended and the format is changed ... I seem to think that it is ... I'll be doing some others and can check that part of it.

I just checked my ended........you can use "relist" which brings up the listing page and change it there to auction.......and then relist it.........so there shouldn't be any question about what you did with the item........

Thanks ... if it were an item under $ 20 I wouldn't be as concerned but this particular item would be almost $ 30 in FVFs and "ain't nobody got time for that"!

Isn't there a "send to auction" option for a fixed price listing that would moot the question?

As mentioned, I have a send to auction option on my selling page where I can select any fixed price to switch over. It essentially still ends the listing but is much faster.
Have you ever been warned about selling off site? I was last year and put on probation where they told me I would be charged if it happened again. I wasn't guilty, but still was accused because I gave out my address in a message for where they could pick it up.

@luckythewinner There is a "Change to Auction" (I think someone else here mentioned that) on the pull down menu on the Seller Hub Active list ... I've never used that function on an individual listing but you might be right. I will obviously find out one way or another this weekend LOL!

Since you had an interested buyer, why not just repost the listing and let them buy it? Or were you hoping for a higher price?

@mam98031 Very good question ... however, it was already committed to the other venue, guaranteed to sell there plus I would not have to ship it or have to deal with any potential returns. ( 9 - 10 lbs) I suspect it will sell for about the same on either venue so some of the things I don't have to deal with are the advantage.

Your OP suggests that it had not yet been posted on the other venue. You said you were in the process of moving it.

"Ended" on eBay in this instances actually means what it says ...
