Why would someone have 16 Users ID's in 4 Years?

Why would someone have 16 Users ID's in 4 Years? Just seems weird.

Because they can.

Some just like variety.

May think it hides bad behaviour.

I wondered if feedback stays with them and carries on with the new ID??

A member can change their user ID on their account every 30 days, if they like. The ID change has no effect on their feedback profile.  That's not at all the same thing as opening a new account.  I can't think of any way you could figure out that somebody had 16 separate accounts.  Like one of the other posters said, maybe he just has a short attention span, likes change, or changes what he's selling and needs a more appropriate ID.

Well it depends upon whether or not you're talking about a new account or just changing your username.

Changing your username and password regularly can be a good thing to avoid being hacked. Getting new accounts can hide bad behavior.

This one has the most logic. You wouldn't sell many bibles with a name like beealzebub666 .

Sure but you'd think after 5 or 10 changes, he'd pick something generic like Greatdeals or buymystuff.

Probably has to do with security. They change both their ID and their password regularly to keep from being hacked. Probably something we all should be doing.

Some people like variety and change their clothing several times a day. I know people who get new cars every year. Also people who change their nail polish every day. If you're a generalist seller with few repeat buyers why not?

Life is more fun when you're less stodgy.

On reflection I gave up some pretty great names over the years. I used expecto*patronum before Harry Potter became a thing.

Thanks everyone very much for the input. Old dog here trying to get back to speed on selling and learning. First seliing was 18 years ago on Ebay and alot has changed. I agree about security issues and I get that.

Still strange. You start something and carry on,  cast off indeciveness and suck up consequences and adapt.

Thanks again...
