Why would buyer leave a negative immediately over an allegeged broken zipper w/o asking to return?

Also why does this buyer's feedback profile only show feedback sellers left him, but have nothing to show for what he left sellers? He has bought a lot. Can they hide what they have left but show what sellers left them?

Why leave an immediate negative without even contacting me? Why would he keep an item with a "faulty" zipper, wouldn't he rather return it? I test all zippers carefully before listing, and this item looked like it had been worn only a couple times. Arc'teryx doesn't use cheap zippers. Buyer lied about a faulty zipper. Why? Also dinged me on shipping badly! When I've lowered shipping to flat low amounts. I went down 9/10's a % from the neg. With 400 sales one neg takes you from 100% to 99.1% Shipping down from 4.9 to 4.8 after staying at 4.9 for 2 years, and I recently changed to lower flat rates.

I think buyer was acting vindictively. Lives in D.C. that says a lot. 😁

Why would buyer leave a negative immediately over an allegeged broken zipper w/o asking to return?

Because that's how some buyers are.

Hi,  Quite frankly my friend, I think that my response may have been a bit more apologetic - at the same time offering a return for refund.  You have plenty of nice items that are presented well.  You also have some great feedback backing you up.  One negative will not hurt you.  How you respond to it may.  IMHO Of Course.  (J.B.)

Hi @maubrn

The vest has THREE zippers.  Buyer may have been referring to one of the pocket zippers.  [Not taking buyer’s side … just mentioning.]

I know it does. I always check all zippers.  I don't buy anything that looks used or worn. He sells the same brand so I think it was a destroy the competition move. Or he bought it to harvest the part to repair of one of his garments. Or both.

I was shocked that he didn't reach out to me, like I said in my reply to the fb, he'd have been offered a return label instantly.

Yes I know this. Under "left for others" negative, there is zero feedback.

My response to his feedback on my page was restrained, and I did say "you would have been offered a return label immediately" but on his page I forgot to step away for a few days.

I would like to thank you for that. The thing is how to send a link ? On a cell with no mouse to copy? I will try. Can you send me a message on one of my items possibly, it might be easier for me to do that way. But I'll try. Thank you!

Zero negs left as a buyer. No negs shown under

You really need to learn...

Just because something was checked, double checked, triple checked and working before it was shipped does not mean it will be working after it it shipped.

A customer who claims damages is not always lying.

I can't find that link upper right corner you mentioned mam98031 to send you a link. Are you able to send me a message in the system?

i think it was to smear the competition for whatever reason. Item priced $20 below others with cheaper shipping. Or to harvest a part off the zipper, for a repair he has, as he sells the same brand, except his price is 5x's higher.

really, the reply I left on my page? I thought that was civil? On his page I needed to step back. He is totally silent. His neg does not show anywhere on his feedback and I know about "left for others". Who knows how many other red marks he's left while his feedback is glowing green? Is that a feature you can purchase?

@maubrn

Except ONE negative FB does not "destroy the competition" in any way.  And what the buyer wrote was not suggest or state that the OP is a bad seller.  You and some others are over thinking this which is causing the paranoid thoughts.  It actually could be that one of the zippers failed.  Zippers work well until they don't.  There are 3 zippers on the item.

Or maybe the buyer changed their mind and are using the zipper as an excuse.  Hard to say one way or the other.  Most sellers at some point deal with a similar situation at some time and it doesn't end their success on Ebay as a seller.
