Why will it not let me add promotion to this listing?

invalidreturn.jpg

I was waiting until the last day to add the promotion on this listing as it dropped down to .99. It has a bid. I didn't think it mattered if it had a bid and you decide to promote it. But it is popping up with invalid international shipping policy. What is that about? I did not try to change anything about the listing, only to add that promotion. Why does a return policy mean you can't promote? Anyone seen this before or have any insight? Thanks.

If anyone else ever sees this, or I forget and come back here again....😅, if you are under where the list of auctions with bids are, under manage active listings, and check the box next to item, use the drop down for actions, and select promote. There it LETS you add promotion.

Ebay rep in chat told me adding promotion is changing a detail of the listing so I need to end the auction with a bid and relist it without my mistakes. Obviously not true, since the item is now promoted, when having the bid.

Even after I asked what international return policy has to do with promoting listings, they told me to go read the help page about revising listings. And suggested I revise fixed price listings instead of the auction. When I'm asking about one specific auction I'm interested in promoting. So that everyone knows just how useful ebay help is.

I hope they forward this glitch to the technical team like I asked them too, but I doubt they will.

What does this section of your listing look like? I am assuming this is in a draft status at the moment.

Re: Why will it not let me add promotion to this listing?

Sorry, I never saw I received an answer for this. The listing was ending in 1 day, so I had hoped my post would be seen sooner. After it ended, I never received any notification of an answer and didn't check back any longer.

The listing had been fine as it was set up for the whole duration. It only gave me that complaint when the only thing I tried to change was the promotion. Matter of fact, I think the same listing is still listed exactly the same to this day. I relisted it and changed the price. I never touched the international return policy. It is no returns accepted on all of them. But this error message still pops up with random revisions of quantity or unrelated things. I was able to change a quantity just on the seller hub. Just on the actual form, it complains of this international return policy that is fine unless I want to change something unrelated.

I don't think this ever happens on draft listings or when I am creating listings. Only on unrelated revisions. I mean, I don't ever revise the international return policy because it's just no returns and that's it. There's no reason to ever touch that.

Re: Why will it not let me add promotion to this listing?

I'm still having this problem. I wanted to add promoting the listing at the recommended 9.5% for an auction with a bid, but it is complaining about international return policy again. I have it set to no returns. I do not want to offer international returns. Why can I not promote a listing without offering international returns? What does one have to do with the other? Anybody??

Re: Why will it not let me add promotion to this listing?

eBay help is a freaking joke. Seriously. Like most entities. Especially with their faulted/crooked buyer protection. Someone can purchase something from you, and when received, they can say they received an empty water bottle instead of the actual item, and ask for a refund, or even open up a case/claim, and eBay will side with them for the most part. It's really unfair. That, as well as if a buyer opens up a claim/case for item not received, eBay will put a halt on any incoming/processing payments. (Now I've heard they will only hold the amount equivalent to the amount of whatever item(s) were/is sold that the buyer purchased but is now opening a case/claim on, but that hasn't been true with me, as all of my payments have been stopped and put on hold. The worse thing about this is that in the past, when this has happened (mind you multiple times) if the buyer opened up a claim that the item is not received or "will not be received" even if tracking shows it is in transit and on its way, and to add that it's also possible that the buyer provided an incorrect address even though the label was purchased through eBay and address given to eBay by buyer is buyers own doing/fault and you've done everything correctly and followed every appropriately, even if the buyer then receives the item eBay will still keep the hold, then will force you to wait x amount of days usually 3 minimum, even after tracking shows that the item was delivered, even if the buyer corrects themselves and marks that they received it, funds still won't be released for at least a minimum of 3 days, which is absolutely absurd to me... I don't know how many times a representative has given me false information, or information based on how they are feeling or what they think... Which is absolutely absurd. I kid you not I've gotten "oh I can assure you that the buyer is not scamming and that they will receive the package and not open a claim, because their profile and status shows a positive pattern and history of this", as if the sellers doesn't show the same positive things... And in one case I even stated that I believed and actually knew I was getting scammed and it was because the buyers profile had gotten hacked, which I relayed back to eBay, and yet they still said that exact same thing

Come to find out, buyers profile was hacked and the item was being shipped to a 3rd party reshipping company, so that the item could be shipped out of the country, to a scammer. Luckily the buyer had regained access to his profile literally right before it was going to be reshipped out the country and had notified me saying that their profile was hacked and that they aren't a scammer and will pay for the item because they had actually gotten their hands on it... In another case, I got screwed like that... In every instance, eBay withheld my funds, even if this item was still up in the air for over a month and a half, even if the buyer did it didn't receive the item due to everything but my own fault, they held my funds, and always sided with the buyer even if it was their fault or the issue was caused by them or not... It's really frustrating... Most recently I shipped an item out and dropped the price significantly, because I felt bad because it seemed the buyer really wanted the item(s) and messaged me asking if I would sell it for a lower odd number, and so I said sure, and because they did not read the description properly, and thought they were getting a lot of the same exact item, but they were mystery boxes and all different which was described competently, and said I had sent only 6 out of the actual 7, eBay sided with them and automatically refunded them even if I provided these facts...

That's a giant wall of text, and honestly, I couldn't get myself to read it all.  You're also posting on an old thread the moderators will close soon.

I suggest if you want advice, that you open a new thread of your own, break up your question into moderate sized paragraphs, and just explain exactly what you need help with.
