Why is deleting a listing so difficult?

kablan9225

Does anyone else get the feeling ebay does not _want_ us to easily delete items we have listed? It's utterly maddening.

FWIW, I have looked at other posts about how to do it, but I do not have the tabs/options on my screen that other people suggest are the way to go.

Help for a newbie?

Re: Why is deleting a listing so difficult?

When you click on "My Ebay" and then " Selling" do you see the seller hub and see tabs for overview, orders, listings?

If you see the Listings tab, hover, and go down to "Active" and click it. You can do a search from there for your item then there will be a small drop down menu next to the item where you can end the listing, then go in Unsold (under listings again) and delete it if you want.

Hope that helps

Go to ACTIVE LISTING (click down arrow) select END LISTING.

are you on a phone, or a PC?

phones seem to be lacking in options, or options are very hard to find

Re: Why is deleting a listing so difficult?

what exactly do you find so hard about selecting "delete" from the drop down and then going into "ended" and deleting it there?

Um, nothing? Except there is no "delete" in my drop down.

Re: Why is deleting a listing so difficult?

Everything pretty much has to be done from the seller hub overview page.  Under the listing section is a link to active listings.  Find the listing, select it and there is a drop down menu for actions, to end the listing appears at the top.

Re: Why is deleting a listing so difficult?

THANK YOU! It didn't say exactly that, but you got me close enough to "Active" that I could finally find "End listing." I REALLY appreciate your help!

Re: Why is deleting a listing so difficult?

It would be so easy if you could end a listing when you pull it up to view it. You can revise the listing when you are viewing it, but there is no option to end it.

Why would you need to do this, rather than ending it, as the helpful people above have shown us? Imagine you have hundreds & hundreds of listings. Or thousands.  Imagine scrolling thru pages of "active listings", looking for the one you want to end.  You can search your listings with a key word or two & quickly find what you want. But you can't end it when you find it that way, only revise it.

You will never find a more wretched hive of scum and villainy. We must be cautious.
