Why does my no pay, no response buyer still have a 100% positive rating?

I sold items at auction and after repeated invoices, a polite email received neither a reply or payment.  I reported to ebay and was able to relist my items.  But why does he still get a 100% positive rating?  I cannot leave feedback but shouldn't sellers be made aware he was a no pay, no correspondence ebayer?

Because ebay needs happy buyers more than they need happy sellers.

Actually they need both.

One without the other is a spiralling out of control death coaster.

Not necessarily. There is no requirement for sellers to be happy, in order to continue selling. Only the Buyers have to be happy.....Thats the bays stance on it at least.

I have an idea.

Buyers need to have some kind of responsibility too. They need to have some responsibility when they make a purchase given the factor that the seller made all visible and explainable.

Aren't we tired of being a "changing room?"

How about penalizing the buyers 10% +shipping of the item's price if they neg or return after they were forced to pay.  Our time is gold, right? Smiley Happy

We need to have a conversation about this unilateral feedback, not today, but some day, right? Smiley Wink

Ebay has figured out a math equation where a certain % of non paying buyers might result in you not filing a dispute to get your Final value fees reversed. So they last thing ebay wants to do is stop a buyer......ANY buyer.......for ANY reason. The more times they push that buy it button the more times fees are collected. Just as simple as that.

The moment sellers are able to warn other sellers......that buyer gets blocked by many sellers and gets frustrated and does not buy here any longer. Sellers being hassled for some odd reason means nothing to ebay. They never figured it out that their good sellers are leaving in droves as well which = less things that can be purchased.

Re: Why does my no pay, no response buyer still have a 100% positive rating?

EBay’s big idea is if the contract is voided the item goes back to the seller and the money to the buyer. That is what a court would decide on a breached contract. If eBay was really deciding for the buyer they would keep the item and the money. They are undoing the sale the best they can. That does not mean the buyer wins. Jumping through hoops to get your own money back is not a win.

What eBay could be doing better is removing scammers permanently. The resellers in the phone cat, the people who send back fakes. Once is ahe said/she said. Two and they should be gone for good.

I agree with part of your post that the item should go back to seller and the money to the buyer.  No problem.

The problem comes in when the buyer decides that they just don't like the item and expect, and many do, to return the item on the seller's dime.  Or  send back the wrong item or a damaged item.  An item that is accurately described and in 100% working order when sent to the buyer.

Also  it is no better for sellers to have to jump through hoops, plus put out money to get their own items back when there is a dis-satisfied buyer.  A buyer who is dis-satisfied through no fault of the seller.

I also agree that E-bay should get rid of scammers on both sides of the fence.

I will mention  that it is really hard for a buyer to actually get scammed on this site if they follow the policies laid out by E-bay.   They can almost always get their money back.

Not so for sellers.

There is absolutely no policy, that I am aware of,  for sellers that compares with the return  policy for the buyers on this site.

COYOTES RULE!!!
