Why does eBay screw sellers?

Astonishing that a lying customer can get away with so much, eBay has cost me a large sale $500!  by meddling in my business I had everything organised with the customer for a drop off and they gave the customer a refund the same day the package was delivered by hand by me!, DO NOT DO THIS as iam not a registered courier and couldn't use post due to weight I have no tracking number to submit SO TOO BAD FOR ME!  and that's just the beginning of the horror I've experienced at the hands of Ebay's constant siding with UNSCRUPULOUS Customers! how I've managed to keep my 100% is a miracle frankly but the stress and loss of sleep the anxiety and heart palpitations are all to much to take! This will be my last week on eBay I have had enough of the one track no recourse ways dictated by eBay I WILL STAND UP AND LEAVE AND UNTILL OTHERS DO SO ASWELL NOTHING WILL CHANGE!  DON'T TAKE IT PEOPLE , I can never get anyone on the phone unless I try to cancel my account and there all over me then, so they are aware their time is running out before a mass exodus cripples them and iam sick to bloody death of defending eBay from scorned buyers who were ripped off on postage or product , the writing is on the wall EBAYS DAYS ARE NUMBERED IF THEY CONTINUE THIS WAY

Item number? Was it a large item with high shipping that you delivered yourself but kept the shipping fee? Was it the coffee grinder?

You cant start the process of canceling your account if you still have items listed.

Why does eBay screw sellers?

they just let $600 be stolen from me!!

Ebay not does not care about their top rated sellers!!!

Buyer with couple of feedback purchased (new)gaming computer, shipped, week later opens INAD case with dark blurry photo. I pay for return label. Week goes by, no shipping notification but instead several emails explaining the buyer escalated with ebay, they sided with him, case is closed. With me never receiving?? Tracking “proof” they shared behind the scenes is not what I paid for but rather a tracking originating from “NY distribution center” (buyer is located in Maimi!) and attemped delivery to my town with “house number doesn’t exist” I appeal the case since I have nothing returned and ebay decided that “ attempted delivery counts” and returned. This is a f*cking scam and just something purchased from somewhere else not ever planned to be the item returned. How can I be out everything as a top rated seller? How can ebay be so stupid with this scam? I’m considering legal action to make a point if I must. Where is seller support?? Where is seller protection??

What's mind boggling to me is that eBay promotes that they want large ticket item sales on their site. And I get it, they collect more on the purchase.  But these stories of sellers getting scammed on these large purchase items are far too frequent and will eventually lead to sellers not selling these types of items. I am sorry this happened to you and its incredibly unfortunate that this continues to happen.

not quite sure how this happened?  You are in Australia.....looks like you ONLY do local pickup.....so surely you are conversant with the process of QR code or the 6 digit code for deliveries......  ?

It would be ludicrous if the seller wasn't.

Buying with local pickup

After you’ve completed your purchase, we’ll send an email with a Local Pickup code (a QR code and a 6 digit code) to your Messages. You can either print off your email or show the seller the message on the app when you collect your item. The seller will scan or enter the code on the eBay app to confirm you’ve picked up your item.

Ebay has become scam central and something tells me that might be feeling the wrath of government action in addition to seller lawsuits.

I certainly hope you take action against that scammer and get your money back.

Don't you only get the code if the listing stated local pickup in the first place?

I checked a number of his listings as if I were in AU..........all had free local pickup as the only option.............I really don't know much about local pickup, but checked Aussie rules and they provide for the QR code or the 6 digit code to verify pickup.  I would presume  he knows what he's doing, as he's sold alot, so can't figure it out.......

Really sorry to hear this transaction went south on you, Antartica I would suppose. Looks as though you have had a lot of successful transactions.

Betting you won't allow another boondoggle on a local pickup and that you will not take down the 1,000 listings you have up. That rant is at least a 9.5

Chalk it up to experience.

Best of sales to you on down the line.
