Why did I even bother?

So I came here looking for help. What I received instead, was a bunch of indirect insults and low stabs from a group of self entitled, narcissistic Karens that somehow believe they are above everyone else and **bleep** me for bothering you with a question because all mighty Ebay can do no wrong.  And it was almost all the same from each respondent. Like a flock of sheep quoting Ebay policy as their falling off the cliff they just got herded off. Does it maybe, just maybe, stand to reason that some of their policies may be flawed? Or have you created another god? Because, thats how some of you, not all, but some of you are acting. Sorry I bothered you. So you guys  just keep looking for Kyle. He's this tall...right?

I don't even worry about none of that malarkey but I think this is a pretty good post you made and I'm sure the thread will be decent.

I went back and read your previous post.

I saw no insults or low stabs.

@inhawaii

The OP wants members to agree that eBay's policies are flawed.

Members were assisting in sorting through the rubble as the OP looked for money from eBay that will not be there.

The transactions were complete and there is nothing to appeal or anything like that. OP lost original shipping and Final Value Fees.

You did receive help on the other thread, the help was a near unanimous opinion that Ebay's actions were likely to be appropriate under the agreement you have with Ebay, and are appropriate Trust and Safety measures.

You will get whatever funds you are due eventually.

I asked (but you didn't reply) how you think it should have gone with those 2 transactions you had.  Maybe you know of a way that would have been fair to all three parties: you, your buyers and eBay.  Would you be willing to share it now?

I, too, went back and read the original thread and did not see any insults or low stabs.  I'm not sure what you are referring to other than the answers were not what you thought the answers should be.   If you didn't like the responses you got, okay.  But to start another thread calling those responders and this board names?

BTW, @gurlcat asked you how you think it should have been handled and you did not respond to her.

Sorry, no "Me too" reply here for you. There are hiccups in all business, but for 22 years (and 18-ish as a seller) this platform has been a great place for me. It has not become a god. It's a place to do business. I hope you find your God, but the dark side (Karen) is kind of passe by now, I think. The keyword is now Ashley.

I just read about your last two problematic sales.  Those problems, on top of having payment holds in place due to not being a frequent seller, created the perfect storm of a cluster you know what.  I can see why you didn't like any of the answers because there is no answer that makes this go away or can fix all that has gone wrong or change ebay's policies, but I honestly didn't see the insults you speak of.

Anger, disappointment & frustration are normal emotions in situations like this, but lashing out at others just trying to help or offer advice in response to your posts, won't help your problems at all, but maybe it made you feel somewhat better.

Welcome to one of the most toxic places on the internet!
It's been this way for years, people come here with problems, and the regulars will look through your profile and tell you why it's your problem, and not Ebay (it's never Ebay, it's always you!).

These people are called the cheerleaders (Rah, rah, rah) and they are the people that are mostly posting the snide comments on this thread here.
I come here to for fun sometimes, just to watch the train wreck.

I think the OP (may be wrong) might be signaling the emoji ( ðŸ˜†) used in the thread which may have appeared to be mocking the OP and/or his problem. Honestly i don't think the replies were as hostile as many posts that we see on the boards, but users do have issues and sometimes are just looking for empathy.

What sort of help were you looking for?

I went back and looked at your previous post and, from what I saw, what you got were a lot of explanations regarding why things went sideways for you.  If you were just looking to vent, you could have said as much.  Most of us have come up against situations like yours at some point, though admittedly not all of them at the same time, so we can certainly empathize.  Nevertheless, it's not clear what you were hoping to get in terms of replies.  You appear to be extremely frustrated, which is understandable, but lashing out at your fellow eBay users isn't likely to help alleviate that.

It's true that there are a few less than awesome contributors to this board, but they're just trolls like you would find on any forum, and they didn't post replies to your previous thread.   You got responses to the issues you raised, all of which provided information you can use going forward if you continue to sell on eBay.  You now know to not ship oversized items with USPS (though I can't figure out how you did this in the first place as this isn't normally even an option), not to give partial refunds, and to wait to sell high ticket items until you have more feedback as a seller (having less than ten sales in a year makes you an infrequent seller which puts eBay at risk of lost revenue, it's not personal).  Going through the hassles you've just gone through is a sucky way to learn, but, again, we've all been there.

This place can get pretty tough at times, I have been on the receiving end of those insults & stabs on many occasion's but I'm still here. & I do think some of their policies are flawed, especially when they don't follow their own policies at times, But it is something we just have to deal with.

Complaining about insults while being insulting in the same sentence doesn't accomplish anything. Often we come here with complaints thinking we are in the right, thinking things will go our way. Sometimes it is hard to swallow that that won't be happening. Try to focus on what was said and not how it was said.
