I just had a purchase from Puerto Rico where I ship for free, no problem. But, the buyer was from a small island off of Puerto Rico where UPS has a $30 surcharge. I don't want any future buyers from that island, don't want to absorb another huge shipping surcharge. The island is covered by mostly a single zip code, why is there no option to block buyers from a zip code?
Off topic, why are Puerto Rico PO Boxes passing through PO Box shipping restriction? I'm tired of contacting buyers with obvious PO Box addresses from Puerto Rico. I only ship UPS/DHL so I can't ship to those.

You can exclude just PO Boxes, or Puerto Rico itself.
Puerto Rico is under Central America and Caribbean. But you may also need to exclude US Protectorates.

Why would I want to exclude Puerto Rico? I get a lot of customers from there, it's only the small island off of Puerto Rico that has this shipping surcharge. Blocking that zip code would solve the problem.
Current implementation of PO Box exclusion does not work for Puerto Rico.

You should have used USPS. UPS charges an extra fee to Puerto Rico or any cross border delivery that USPS doesn't charge.

Not relevant to my post thank you.
I ship to Puerto Rico using UPS at least once a week so I know the costs involved. Shipping to the island I'm talking about, with it's own zip code, is where the UPS surcharge comes in.
I'm interested in restricting buyers by zip code not changing my shipping carrier.

Have you considered using Calculated Shipping?
In conjunction with the buyer's zipcode and your dimensions, weight, and chosen service, the buyer sees the exact cost for the delivery.
BTW- There is a very very good chance that UPS subcontracts that "last mile" delivery to USPS.

Sounds like a UPS problem. Does USPS have added surcharge? Can you limit carrier choices to USPS? Are you offering "free" shipping? If so, do not specify a carrier in the listing. Then you can choose whichever carrier is cheapest based on buyer's locale. Alternately, use calculated shipping for the listing.

Again, I'm not looking to change how I ship or who I use to ship.
I'm looking to to block buyers from specific zip code. This should be a basic feature and trivial to implement since eBay knows the buyers zip code. I'm pretty surprised this isn't an existing option since there are some remote/unusual locations where one would not want to ship to.

How many people live on that island? What are the odds you are ever going to ship to it again if you block that one buyer?

I am so sorry you didn't find my reply revelant. 😭🥱

How about this reply? You can't block by zip code. Does that work for you?

You could specify that you do not ship to that zip code or there is a surcharge for that zip code...make it very clear in your listings...bold and at the beginning of your description and if/when a person buys something from that zip code you can immediately cancel the order under "problem with buyers address" and state (nicely 😁) that you made it very clear that you do not ship to that zip code.
Hopefully this works for you.

I see, so you guys don't want to have more features added giving more control of selling.
Weird but ok.

We would all love to have such control BUT guess who has that control...and are they giving us any of it??? Nope...It's not as if a topic such as yours hasn't hit these boards before, we all are aware that there is no way to block by zip so I was trying to give you another way out of the sale if you come across the same problem.

Ok, maybe if it was brought up more often they would add that feature.
