I have been on eBay forever but haven't listed anything for awhile. I listed one item and sold it. I get a lame email from eBay with a heading: "Your sold item is ready to ship" which of course went straight to spam. I mean can't eBay send an email that says something like: "ITEM (whatever the listing name) SOLD!" like they used to send? Is it supposed to be a secret when an item sells? Am I supposed to check my selling stats every 5 minutes? This is such an easy thing for eBay to do, why can't they make it easy on the seller?

eBay did notify you. No you don't need to check your selling stats every 5 minutes. Fix your Spam settings to allow those email messages. Problem solved.

Not a good enough notification for me, guess I'm just real slow in my old age.

Don't rely on emails for sales. If you are selling on this platform, you should be checking this platform (seller hub) at least twice a day.

Guess checking the seller hub is the solution. Need to add that to the daily list behind emails, stock market (watching my IRA go to nothing), work emails, Instagram, Facebook Marketplace, etc., etc. I thought technology was supposed to free us from repetitive tasks. Oh, it really only makes us more accountable.

How much trouble is it to log in and go to seller hub once a day? You WILL eventually get bitten if you rely on emails because sooner or later one will get lost in the mail....... I'm old also, but doing that check in relieves one worry from my mind.

I get a "your item has sold" from ebay every time something sells.
It does not go straight to spam.
By the way YOU control what goes straight to spam, not ebay.
If you don't want it going straight to spam, fix it.
My emails also tell me what sold.
Why do you need this information in a email anyways?
Don't ever ship anything based on a email you received.
LOG IN to ebay and see what sold and what needs to ship.
My ebay > Seller hub. You might want to try it sometime.

Selling is a responsibility.
Instagram is a waste of life
If you have items on FBMP that are the same and 1 only; you need to watch eBay even closer as you don't want any 'oh, I sold that' issues.
Last- don't watch the stock market until 2023. It will only give you angina.

OK, you're right, it's been added to the list, thanks

I mean, re-read your OP. You want an email. You admit, you got an email. What more should they do? It's not Ebay's fault it went into your SPAM.
I find the emails to be very reliable, if you tell your Host, it's not SPAM. I don't get how any of this is on Ebay.

OK, I'm alone on an island here, thanks Gilligan

Gilligan wasn't alone. Tom Hanks was.

Perhaps more would be on the island with you, if you could be a bit more clear in what you are expecting? I read it as you wanted an email from Ebay that you sold an item & that's exactly what you say you got, so I'm not clear what your actual complaint is, except it's not worded exactly the way you'd like?

If you sell here, you need to look here, little buddy. 🏝

You should not rely on email. Always check your messages through Ebay. If you insist on using email you need to go to your email site and allow Ebay email.
