So I listed an item in the vintage baseball bat category, it's actually a super rare rack/stand that holds baseball bats. The value is unknown because they aren't something you find every day, so not knowing a value, I did the go high and look for an offer. The item is priced so that it will be in the first 10 items when you search highest price first and the thing is, it doesn't come up when your hit it's price range. Why is this? It's been listed for hours and only 2 views. It's a very rare item so I would imagine something like it is would have many more views. The only way I can find it in the category is to specifically search for it. So the fact it doesn't show up in it's price slot makes me scratch my head. Is this because I don't have a store any-more? I noticed I had some no reserve auctions last week for some super scarce books and there were literally no views on books that are quite valuable and pretty scarce. So wondering if others are having any "supressed" experiences. A few other items seem to be doing ok but those categories seem a lot more simple. Everything is collectible so is the entire inventory on eBay going to fall under "Collectibles?" Are we going through another category update phase that may be causing this? Could it because they are items that were relisted and during the time it was last listed, things are changing? Trying to understand the latest glitch. Thanks

The terms bat stand and bat rack are extremely heavily filtered in the sports categories as are the words stand and rack by themselves. No idea why. It could be because the words appear in hundreds of thousands of listings in the item specifics that don't actually corelate to a stand or a rack.
The price you have it listed at might trigger some sort of manual review, as listing things for insane prices has lost been a strategy to draw attention to someone's other listings.

Hmmm...I see what you mean. I wonder if would help if you replace '19th to Early 20thC' in the title with the word "Antique". As a fan of baseball memorabilia, I use the search "antique baseball" every now and then to see what goodies come up. I think some collectors will be searching this way and not specifically for a rack or stand. Also, people who search for "antique baseball bat" should then also see your rack and you would reach the most probable buyers.

EBay's search engine prioritizes promoted listings if they have one word in your search. I've frequently searched on a specific set of two or three words and had numerous unrelated items show up before an item with those specific words. (And it's not because the wrong items had the words elsewhere), When searching sold items, this problem doesn't appear.

It can take up to 24 hours for a listing to index and show up in search results. In addition, if you revise the listing before it is fully indexed, it can delay it further from showing up.
“Your listing may not be immediately searchable by keyword or category for several hours (or up to 24 hours in some circumstances). eBay can't guarantee exact listing duration,..”

Search results are highly dependent on the search parameters that are used. I ran the following search using exact words, any order, price + shipping highest first and not only does your item show up it is the only one that shows up.
