I was in hospital with broken leg for over a month and could not ship yet two deadbeats gave me negs without knowing or caring about the circumstances and that is why I could not ship to them right away. This kind of attitude that deadbeat buyers can be very mean to sellers but not vice versa is very wrong.

While I completely respect what you were going through and I'm sorry you spent a month in the hospital for a broken leg. You had to of had serious complications. I'm very sorry to hear that.
You should have had someone put your account on Time Away. You are mad at the buyers and calling the "deadbeats" and all they knew was you were not responding, shipping or communicating. So it was highly likely they thought you were the deadbeat.
You need to reverse this a bit and put yourself in the buyer's shoes.
I sincerely hope your leg is doing much better and that the rest of your recovery goes well.
This is just something you likely just need to accept and move on from. Good Luck!

If they don't know about your situation why would you expect them to just sit around waiting for you to ship when you don't even respond to messages.
Seems very odd to refer to someone as a deadbeat when they bought and paid for something and got nothing.

Sorry about your leg issues BUT you did agree to perform the duties of an eBay seller of the User Agreement that you agreed to on day one. Your buyers did pay up as required to get an purchase shipped within your stated handling time. Should have had a plan B (aka a pinch hitter to step in for you) or just shut down or both or cancel the orders and take the beating on seller performance ). - one can still do some eBay functions laid up in the hospital with their cell phone - like communicating with the buyers, etc.

PS: 30+ days in a hospital for a broken leg seems to be a very long time. Personally had by- pass surgery - 5 tubes replaced in the hospital for 7 days able to walk and function. Wife recently had rotator cuff surgery in the hospital 1 night and I was her nurse and chief cook and bottle washer for 2.5 weeks - starts PT today. - we are '44 and '45 year models. Hospitals like to get patients out pronto

Did you post about this before? If so you were complaining that the hospital staff wouldn't let you use their computers to access Ebay.
You do know that hospitals have wireless for patients? At least the last time I was in the hospital a couple of years ago I certainly had it in my room. Perhaps you don't own an internet capable phone or someone couldn't bring you one on a visit? Either way, calling your buyers deadbeats is ????????????

You are correct, they did.

They paid.
They are not deadbeats.
You did not ship.
You did not cancel.
You did not refund them (?).
You did not make arrangements for anyone else to cover your business while you were hospitalized.

@johnrj1226
I wondered about that too.
I spent two nights in hospital after each knee replacement. I was walking the next day and wasn't allowed to go home until I could show that I could walk up steps.
It was similar when I shattered my ankle in 2002.
Of course, I still had physio for several weeks and a nurse came to the house for wound care and an aide for bathing.
Perhaps American hospitals prefer to give all those on an inpatient basis, while our Canadian system sends us home as soon as possible.? Ah, well, that did save those onerous parking lot fees that we complain so bitterly about.

What a bunch of deadbeats!
They bought something from you.
They paid you.
They expected to receive their item but did not.
DEADBEATS!

@reallynicestamps My mom just had knee replacement surgery last year and was the same for her, she was home in a couple days.
OP, I was hospitalized and could not work, I went on vacation mode so I wasnt a 'deadbeat' seller...

Honestly, this is one of the funniest posts I've read here in a long time.
Expecting those who buy from you to have ESP?
I'd settle for fourth grade reading comprehension.

Why are deadbeat buyers allowed to make up lies about honest sellers?
All eBay users are allowed to make up lies about other eBay users. As an aside, these do not sound like deadbeat buyers. They sound like they paid for the item, and simply want it to be shipped as promised.
I was in hospital with broken leg for over a month and could not ship yet two deadbeats gave me negs without knowing or caring about the circumstances
I would not know or care what your circumstances were either. That is why as a seller, I have an emergency plan that allows someone to take over in the even that I am unable to run my business.

You're the one that failed to do your job and the buyers are the deadbeats?

For a seller like @john_wade to be a registered Ebay member since 1998, have well over 12,000 in feedback and NOT KNOW he could messaged these folks from his hospital bed using the Ebay app (and cancelling the sales AND messaging his customers), is just weird.
And the REPLIES to the feedback left
"I was in the hospital with a broken leg from Jan. 25 to March 1. Over a month. There was no way I could respond in a hospital bed as I could not ship your item from a hospital bed and could not answer your messages as I was not allowed to use the hospital computer for private reasons. It's very wrong for you to harass me and give me a neg without knowing the circumstances. Be careful about this buyer. Very likely to give a neg to a seller with the drop of a hat."
"Sorry. Was in the hospital with broken leg for one month. Right now I'm using a walker. Don't know how soon I can go to post office. Ask eBay for a refund."
Just sad. Now that you're home, @john_wade just cancel the orders and refund your customers
