Hey guys,
I hope this message finds you all well. I'm reaching out today as a seller specializing in premium 1/18 scale car models, each meticulously crafted and priced in the hundreds of dollars. While I take great pride in curating a collection that caters to automotive enthusiasts and collectors alike, I've noticed a bit of a plateau in sales.
I value the diverse perspectives of this community and would greatly appreciate any insights or advice you might have on how to enhance the visibility and appeal of my listings. These models are more than just replicas; they're miniature masterpieces that capture the essence of iconic automobiles.
Here are a few details about my listings:
If you have a moment, please take a look at my eBay store [insert your eBay store link] and share your thoughts on what might be hindering sales or any suggestions on how to attract more buyers.
Thank you all for your time and invaluable insights. I'm eager to learn from the community's collective wisdom and take my car model business to new heights.
Best regards,
Aaron

^^^ I think you've answered your own question. Maybe yours are best bought by peeps that get cash for Christmas. 🤞

Where are the models made? Where are they shipped from?
US residents have a duty-free allowance of $800 on imports. The actual duty may vary with the location of the manufacturer.
These are factory made right? You are not making them yourself, which would put them in a different category.
I'd suggest using a larger font and more white space in your Descriptions. Make it easier to read.
If you have the models in hand, take a couple of photos that indicate that---like the background for the Mazda RX-7 which is both clean and specific. But use the tool that removes all background from most of your photos.

Yeah, I understand. The products I sell aren't very relatable for some sellers, because of the pricing.

Most of the cars aren't toys, but more for display. Also, where did you get the 1.3 million from?

delivery time may be a problem............it's showing Jan 4 to me in PA.......from Massachusetts

Shipping cost economy for a magazine is outrageous.
No packaging for new items. No UPS code.
Canceling a sale on a winning buyer...NOT GOOD.

The short answer is too much supply not enough demand especially at the high prices you are charging.
If you type in "1/18 Diecast Model Cars" into search with filters NEW, BUY IT NOW, NORTH AMERICA, there are 10,000+ active listings and only 2,500+ SOLD in the past 90 days. thats a 25% sell through rate. You should expect to sell roughly 20 of your cars in 90 days. You should expect to sell all 77 of your cars within a year. You might sell faster or slower depending on the model, the price, rarity and buyer demand.
Hey if you charge $10 per car you might be sold out within 24 hours. But at your prices expect to wait around a while for your cars to sell.
Personally a 25% sell through rate in that category is too slow for me personally to make it worth my time and effort.
Good luck.

I simply clicked on that $1100 Porsche and looked at the category at the top (which starts as TOYS & HOBBIES
Then, just click the 1st Category of TOYS & HOBBIES and it shows 1,325,000 listings.......

I am not into these car models. If you say that your sales hit a plateau, it would mean that they were higher in the past. So with the same descriptions and photos you did have higher sales. It would seem that there are some macroeconomic trends at play here. How is your competition doing? Are their prices comparable to yours? Do they have items on sale (before x-mas, to attract buyers)? Do yourself run sales and other promotions when times are tough?
As I mentioned I am not into these car models, but if I had someone I would consider buying such a model as a Christmas gift for, I would find your listing not quite adequate/appealing. The collectors know what they can expect in terms of the size of the model when you say the scale is 1/18. I would want to see the dimensions.
You say that they are detailed to perfection. Which is probably the case, however, your photo do not prove it. I am attaching a screen shot of the photo after magnifying it with ebay magnifying glass. That is just terrible, it would turn me off.
You also have item specifics, mostly N/A. Why do you even include them? It gives an impression that you do not care that you just reused a template. Some could be provided like year of manufacture, material.
Are these photos stock photos or your own? I am little bit into art and they are not appealing. When you want something to stand out, you use background color that is complementary to the color of the object you want to stand out. So if you have a red Honda civic, the background color should be in the neighborhood of the green color, you have a gray color car (Honda Integra) on a gray background. For the price you ask and the quality you claim, you should revamp all your photos and create super sharp and attractive images. Not red cars on red backgrounds etc.
These are just quick thoughts from someone who would consider a one time purchase and came across your site. I don't think I would buy from you because of the above.

The three factors affecting you:
1. Ebay issues/problems.
2. Economic issues, things are tighter for many people/families and they are having issues paying for essentials more and more.
3. What we offer for sale. While you may have excellent products and service, you offer a narrow range of items, and they technically are non-essentials. If you have anything else you like, and are also strong sellers presently, include them in your store.

The first thing I check, and you should also consider since you use both auctions and Best Offer format, are the preferences eBay placed on your account with a default to YES.
The preferences severely limit the payment options for a buyer, discourage many, and disallow combining items for one shipping cost. Though these requirements are supposed to cut down on non-payers, they also cut down on buyers that do pay. So long as you know how to deal appropriately with buyers that fail to pay, you should consider changing these (select NO) to see if it makes a difference:
https://www.ebay.com/bmgt/buyerrequirements
Buyer Payment Requirements
*Require buyers to provide a payment method before they place a bid.
*Require buyers to provide a payment method before they make an offer.
Click submit.
Nicknamed the "autopay" requirement, it is the largest complaint on the buyer board of late second only to the "fake tracking scam" issue.
You are welcomed to limit your buyer pool anyway you like, however.
