During the past few days I have been following a big box eBay store and am shocked – simply shocked. In my opinion, this store 'is' giving eBay and all sellers a horrible name due the lack shipping orders, refunding outside of eBay and 'no' customer service at all.
It appears this company is refunding customers through PayPal outside of the original payment.
This morning the overall feed back was:
Positives = 3,647------
Neutrals = 155 88.9%
Negatives = 8,931-----
This big box has had a store since September 22, 2016 and have, as of this post, 8,341 items for sale.
A few minutes ago I check to what had transpired since early this morning and the numbers changed again, they are:
Positives = 3,686------
Neutrals = 159 88.7%
Negatives = 9,151-----
Here are few the negatives:
~Seller is bad and cancellled the order
~Didn’t shipped the item.Paasa
~Item still has not shipped. Invoice paid no shipping info 7 days later
~Not sent and refunded without asking. Contacted seller and they never reply back
~Dissapointed! Item not received, no communication whatsoever!
~Buyer beware: seller never shipped items amd no communication. SCAM
~Bought, waited a week for 3 items to ship, then cancelled without cause.
~I bought item on sale. Seller refunded paypal with no communication. I want item
~Bad seller, should be banned from selling.
~they cancelled and send my payment on paypal even i dont used pypl
~Seller sent refund in PayPal. No message or email through Ebay.
~Did not fulfill order and cancelled though PayPal to avoid eBay NO REFUND GIVEN
~Ebay told me open case after ship date they have no records of any refunds! 🙂
~Canceled order via PayPal, not Ebay. I did NOT request to cancel.
When I first started keeping an eye on this seller the overall FB percentage was 92% which was 4 days ago. It will be interesting to see of eBay does anything.
Would love to hear your thoughts!

I don't deal with any of the big box boys anymore, tried them out a few times with no luck. They either ship the item damaged or packaged so they can be damaged in shipping or any of the mentioned above.

@iaintdoingit Good post ... I don't appreciate Sellers like that giving good Sellers a bad rap ... here are my thoughts:

Wow, that's a real plummet, with far more negs than positives in the past month.
I don't know how eBay handles seller catastrophes that are based on bad feedback, rather than on performance criteria like unresolved claims or seller-initiated cancellations. I'm sure it's only a matter of time, though.

My thoughts:
1) while eBay should do something about this (and similar) sellers, buyers also have to take some responsibility for their own actions. Do not buy from sellers with horrible feedback records. The warnings are there. Heed them.
2) If the numbers are dropping that fast, the seller may be in a recent free fall. If so they will be done for good soon either due to eBay action or whatever outside issue is causing their recent problems.
3) If the seller is refunding through PayPal outside of the original payment - either through using Send Money instead of refund link, or refunding with PayPal when the payment was through another payment processor - the seller may end up double-refunding when/if buyers realize that no refund showing on eBay means they can file and win a claim and get another refund through the formal process.
4) this is more a question than a comment - this feedback "Did not fulfill order and cancelled though PayPal to avoid eBay NO REFUND GIVEN". How is that even possible? How does one cancel through PayPal? Without refunding?

I have a feeling I know about this "big box" seller. It has been "talked" about elsewhere. Previous to this debacle, there were not really any feedback warnings.
In the not so distant past, depending how BIG the seller is, their feedback will likely be adjusted.

I agree. When I buy thing on eBay it's for items that I can't get locally or something very unusual or unique.

This is obviously a power seller that gets a 7 day grace period before buyers can leave a negative. Could you imagine the number of negs if buyers could leave them right away, rather than having to wait and then come back at a later date to leave feedback?
I suppose eBay is satisfied with the 15% FVF they reap on the successful transactions. I suspect that this seller might fall into the 5% service metrics penalty.

I thought the same thing until it hit me that maybe buyers are not looking at feedback a all!
Here are the negative FB breakdown:
1 month = 9,159
6 months = 9,375
12 months = 9,834
That one FB that you questioned was just a sampling and no, it doesn't make sense unless more the negatives are looked at.

Yes, this was recently discussed on the 'Bidding and Buying'.

Not BB -- it's RB.

Go read the buyer boards. The majority of new (within the past decade) buyers don't look at feedback at all...until AFTER something goes wrong. By then it's too late.
