Okay. I don't want to see that. For a couple of days, when I pull up the Ebay site on my computer or cell, among all those promoted ads on the front page, I am getting 2 listings that are clearly adult. Naked women. I haven't clicked on them. Very pornographic.  But, What is Ebay thinking????  I am very much against having that thrown in my face.  My grandsons may be looking over my shoulder or I may be teaching someone about Ebay.  How do I deal with this?

Yup... something similar happened to me a couple of days ago.  For all the commenters saying it was probably connected to one of your recent searches - THEY ARE WRONG ! 

I was searching a specific brand of jewelry and had specifically selected the 'jewelry and watches' category for my searches and I got probably the same nasty pictures but oddly they covered 1/3 of my eBay page (on my computer) so they were particularly large, something I haven't noticed with other sponsored content.

I clicked on one of the pics and reported it but I gotta say - eBay should have an option to report  that allows  you to do so without clicking through to the listing... maybe only for the 'adult category' but truly I did not want to click through on that content, it was obscene and nasty.  Just sayin...

I get a laugh out of "adult" items when the sector is so generally so juvenile. I know it's an access issue.

Suggested listings that appear on the main eBay page can be due to past searches with keywords in common, saved searches, saved sellers, or just items that others viewing the same items you have viewed have also looked at.

The algorithms eBay use are not very smart. I found a series of neckties being suggested for me based on a search that contained the word tie -- only that keyword was used as an exclusion in my search in a non-clothing category. Nothing at all to do with neckties.

So if you search for a part number or search using a keyword, any other listing that contains that number or keyword in the title or item-specifics might become a suggested item for you at some point.

There are several ways to deal with unwanted suggestions on the main eBay page.

The easiest is to simply bookmark a different page, and use the alternative page instead of going to the main page.

A more complicated way to deal with those suggestions would be to use the element hiding tool of an ad blocker to prevent those "suggestion" rows from being displayed in your browser when you go to the main eBay page. Most ad blockers will allow you to block more than just ads using a point and click interface to select and block various page elements.

I don't like eBay, I don't like their unfair fees, the search engine sucks, CS knows nothing more than their screen tells them and their reckless decision making is so baffiling it's a wonder they don't redirect you to Amazon!
With that said, I have been active on eBay for 20+ years anyway, I've seen it all. But anything porographic (that hasn't searched for) is something that I haven't been lucky enough to see.... come-on, thats funny?

Anyway, something is up? As reckless as their decisions are, I can't see even eBay doing something that stuipd. Even after completing searches for adult items, I have never seen ANYTHING randomly pop up that would be considered offensive in that way. I just don't see it, and I am as anti-eBay as they come. They are just not that..... well, they wouldn't take that chance anyway.

I would look at the address bar prior to landing on these offensive pages. I am willing to bet there is some redirection going on in the background and someone on your computer (or phone) has been somewhere they shouldn't 😉  Just say'n

That sounds as if it's a browser issue rather than an eBay thing. If it was an adult listing on eBay you still wouldn't see an adult visual but you'd get a blank/generic "you must log in to see this" graphic. At which point you'd have to go to a separate "it's ok to see adult images" page to agree, and then those listings would be visible.

But, since eBay has removed the "mature adults only" category from the site, I doubt you'd even see that these days. And note that "casual nudity" is not considered "porn" on eBay. The image would have to be something really hard-core for it to be de-listed. That's why Playboy magazines (for example) are listed because there's nothing clearly porn on the cover. Just - as they say in the biz - T and A.

Yeah. My favorite was a Chinese seller that was selling a certain adult item that was easily guessed what it actually was by the title of the listing: they were selling it as a "banana washer."  Oh boy!

i have been having the same issue for the past few days, naked women appear with ebay heading it seems, as soon as i click on ebay. i do not see how it can be a browser issue if so many people are experiencing this problem. i have not had this problem with any other searches/sites. i do not know how to stop it happening and i find it very offensive. bizzarely the photos disappear almost immediatly and then the normal ebay is there. it does seem like it is linked somehow to ebay if it does not happen with any other searches. so what can be done ??

This is an old thread, many people are NOT experiencing this issue.

If the images disappear on their own to reveal the normal eBay page, that sounds like a you problem. You probably have caught some malware and you should scan your computer for harmful elements.
