Whats with eBay doesn't allow you to put custom messages on your packing slips Anymore?
Its only a selection of their pre fabbed messages and doesn't allow you to be personal anymore.
Is this new thing a Beta Version or what? This Sucks! Is there a way to opt out of this?? Thanks

@jayjaspersgarage wrote:Hmm, you must be under 40 years of age. Us oldsters use a pen or pencil and write personalized thank you messages on every packing slip. We even write them in cursive.
You would be surprised how many people under 40 can't read cursive.

On one of the other threads, Tyler says the message thing is a deliberate change ......for safety reasons.
One could guess that some sellers are including off site offers in the messages......or ebay thinks they could.
Of course, since they never changed the "old" packing slip to delete the price as was done on the "new" one, they probably won't delete the opportunity for a message on the "old" one either....... Sometimes there are advantages in Ebay's left hand not knowing what the right hand is doing..........
And, as been pointed out, there ways to develop your own slip to accommodate your own wants/needs........more trouble, but once it's done, probably not a big deal to use.

I am pretty sure that they stopped teaching that in Philly public schools. One of the locals was complaining that its no longer in the curriculum.
I was moving some boxes the othe day and saw my copybook that I used to practice with back in the 60`s
Then I spied my sisters copy book, the front label was filled in as seatwork,is it still called seatwork anymore?

Yeah, and my old handwriting sucks these days! My kids (in their 20's) have a hard time even READING cursive much less writing it.

Hopefully this is a bug.
Nope. This is an intended change. Ebay doesn't want you to say "thank you for your business, and visit my website where similar items are priced lower, and here is your coupon code"....LOL... Use the ball point.

Well, actually I wouldn't be surprised. The education system started failing the U.S. back in the 1980s and it only has become worse with every subsequent decade. Television created huge attention span problems in the 1960's & 70's. Computers contributed to the inability for younger people to survive as young adults by the 1990's and cell phones have finished the job of turning our youth into narrow-minded thumb driven texters and worse in the early years of this century.

Kids can't find their way out of a cardboard box if the power goes out. "What, no GPS?" "What's a map?" "How do you know which way is north?". I overheard a younger lady complaining that she was going to be late to an interview because she didn't have her phone with her. lol. The future of the United States is looking bleak.

I typed a little thank you note 5 times on a computer. I leave enough space in between. I write something like , " Thank you for your recent ebay purchase_______________________________. I put the Item # in the space sometimes. I write a few other lines. I print about 20 sheets at a time . I then cut the slips and I have them ready to go. Nowadays I don't put the item # since buyers can find records of their purchases through MY EBAY.

That is how I do it. Takes like a second to say thank you by hand written note. 🙂

Ebay is trying to stop any and all communication between buyers and sellers except through Ebay and all their restrictions.
