What's up with this stupid constant item specifics updates?

I have close to 900 items and have to constantly update most of them EVERY MONTH, because eBay comes up with a new "specific" again and again. Who has this time to waste? These new programmers are just clueless!

Or is it just me ?

Or so they say.  Not sure anyone believes them.  You can list without the Recommends, but search engines may not pick the listing up. And with eBay's search trashed.....  This is especially true for jewelry and collectibles.  Others may fare better.

If the Item Specifics are set up to comport with a Google search engine, why are they so dumb?  I am looking forward to a revision.  Hoping against hope that this change is for the better.  I resist listing vintage  costume jewelry on ebay.com because the item specifics are geared toward find jewelry and add waaay too much time to the listing process.  Please promise me that an improvement is coming - not another time-suck!
