7 of our last 20 sales have been 0 Feedback Buyers - WAAAAY more than normal - 2 of them used "Buy It Now" and NEVER PAID or even replied to a contact. One purchased a set of New Curtains and then asked for a return the same day as received, reason stated "Did not not like them" - They were under $9 with a shipping cost of $8, so after all is said and done, they will need to pay $8 in shipping to get their less than $9 Back.
On top of that I have 3! additional 0 feedback buyers asking questions about 3 separate items in broken english(I sell to US only) - One made an offer by email, bypassing the "Make an Offer" option in the listing - I sent them their offer back through the email and never heard back.
This is all making me very nervous - Anyone else seeing this!?!

Would like to, but if we do that, then we cant offer combined shipping discounts for multiple items - Our items are all different with different sizes and weights and there is no way we can create combined shipping rules that make any sense, so its just easier(for the most part) to not require immediate payment.

Sounds like eBay is doing a terrific job at bringing in new buyers? New buyers will have questions because well they are new to eBay which means more than likely they are new to buying on the internet as eBay is among the leaders of ecommerce from the beginning. 35% of your buyer base being new is quite impressive.
If you truly are wanting to be successful I would suggest you take extra time with your new potential buyers and show them what kind of extra service they can get online versus a brick and morter operation.
Be thankful for your new buyers that you can shape into creditable internet buyers. Your actions as well as each of us will help to grow a valuable and honorable buyer base.
Good Luck Selling!

Great advice. But OP won't require immediate payment because they can't offer discount so instead they prefer to continue wasting their time with non paying buyers. MAKES NO SENSE.

I appreciate the positive post - I normally do not have major concerns with 0 feedback buyers, though they can obviously be trouble as 3 of the 7 have been a waste of time - Thing is I can't remember ever seeing so many at once and I'm wondering why that is ? I dont know, I can only hope it is an influx of new buyers, but one thing I do know is there is always a reason why things happen on here - When you are not selling your items are not being widely shown, when 4 out of 4 sales in a days time come from Atlanta Georgia or surrounding area your items are being shown in that area - Im just wondering what kind of specialized visibility I am getting to bring out this many 0 feedback, "broken english" buyers.

I had a zero feedback buyer awhile ago. She paid right away and the item was delivered this past Monday.
Those zero feedback buyers who spoke in broken English may be using a freight forwarder.
As long as those zero feedback buyers pay, I hope I get more sales from them.☺

MAKES PLENTY OF SENSE - if it was a continuous problem I would counter it by adding immediate payment required - I would waste MUCH MORE time emailing someone 5 times to set up a proper invoice or not even being able to which might lose me a customer or reduce satisfaction - PLUS pay more fees on money that I have to turn around and waste time refunding - I manage my time in exactly the most efficient and appropriate way thank you very much - useful information would be helpful

Or they may have English as a second, or third, or fourth language.

What percentage of your buyers purchase multiple items?
If it's a low percentage, perhaps Immediate Payment Required might not be so bad.
