I can't tell you how many items I have for sale that are selling consistently by other sellers, same condition, same or higher price often. I have best offer on my items, items are clean, great pictures, etc. This complete garbage. Am I not listing often enough? How stupid that this is a determining factor of why my item will sell or not? Shouldn't it be the particular item, quality of item, listing quality not all this other search algorithm, cassini and other internet scammy stuff! I feel like im spinning my wheels on this site........

I was very frustrated when I made those posts so that's why I said that. Prior to posting, I had just taken down about 8 listings of items that had showed solid sales history when I purchased but just wouldn't move.

Isn't that all very unique to an individual seller. Everyone has their own expectations of what their sales should be and each of us works toward that. Maybe yours are lower than mine or others. Or higher. I don't know.

Where do you see that exact paperweight as having sold for 25 shipping included? Anyone else able to find it? I searched ebay again just now and google. No sales on that unique paperweight. That company has a TON of unique designs, all of them commanding different values.

I do not believe it's as much a matter of repeat buyers. I think it's volume listing. Consistently listing brings sales. It's ridiculous that the item itself at the same or better condition and at a lower price will not sell. However the higher item of another seller will sell (in time of course) simply because they are listing more (often). I just saw it again with the Breadman TR555 breadmaker pan and paddle. I have listed. Someone bought just the pan for the same price as I have the pan AND the paddle listed and mine are quite clean. It happens regularly.

Those are unique and separate items. One of the bicycle seats has a couple of cuts in the front. And the cast iron lodge pans have different amounts of wear. In both cases if the items were nearly identical I would just make a multiple item single listing but they are not.

I appreciate your input but i honestly don't think its a matter of them being luxury items. I check sales history often. Some of these items are getting frequent sales currently at same or higher prices and even sometimes worse condition.

I will repeat what I said to another poster as I think it's applicable.
"Isn't that all very unique to an individual seller. Everyone has their own expectations of what their sales should be and each of us works toward that. Maybe yours are lower than mine or others. Or higher. I don't know."

So, you're agreeing that you can't trust the sales history? Because I sure don't. I think it's not even a matter of those particular items being HOT, it's a matter of is that seller in queue to get a sale on a particular item due to frequent listing and volume, NOT because said item is even particularly a hot seller.

Why does "Read" turn you off?Tons of sellers do that especially on older used electronics and most buyers especially for a hot seller like Bose will absolutely read on. People buy broken Bose gear constantly. I think if you put Parts or Repair in title you turn off far more buyers. "Read" is a good substitute for Works but has issues or something similar. It may just be the particular issue that item has (dim display) that is turning buyers off.
As to price, perhaps so. But I clean the hell out of my items. Look at all of the dirty items taken straight from the thrift store or estate sale and thrown on here. I don't operate like that. So yeah, I think that makes an item slightly more valuable when there is a sea of dirty this, that and the other.

Good point. I've certainly considered this before.

I agree. Every time it really picks up I get worried because it never seems to keep momentum. Even when I'm super consistent with listing. But I appreciate the encouragement!

I sell lots of items as untested. Yes, it sometimes comes back to bite me but usually it's worth the risk. That particular air purifier is indeed working. As stated, the Sanitizer light would not come on. This does not purify the air. I had a potential buyer dm me the other day about this and asked if I pushed the button more firmly would the light come on. I tested it again and sure enough the light came on. So as to that item I've revised the listing to show it is working 100% with that small 'issue' noted.

I don't pay any attention to the sales history here on Ebay.
One item might sell pretty good for a few weeks, but that doesn't mean it'll sell good the next few weeks.
I know when I list an item, it might take awhile to find the right buyer, so I don't expect it to sell in the first few weeks or months, it might take a year or more.
I've listed items that I thought it would take a while to sell, and they sell in a few minutes, and listed items I thought would sell quick and they just set.
It all depends on buyers are looking for and if they can find it.
Until Ebay fixes the search engine so every seller has an equal chance of their items getting found in searches, we're pretty screwed.

OK, guess I just didn't understand.
Having never been unemployed, I did not know that this was a double dip situation.
