What is going on with Promoted Listing views?

My sales are down almost as much as the Promoted Listing views are down. That leads me to believe the issue is with Promoted Listings. I read somewhere, don't remember where, that promoted listing were going to start being seen as ads on off ebay sites. Perhaps the algorithm is giving less traffic to Promoted Listings via ebay search because they are tossing those off to other online advertising as ads?

Where am I going wrong here? Can you tell me ebay--is anyone listening?

I recently, listed about 15 items with this option and they have the least traffic of everything I'm selling!!

WTH is that?  I did this option, because it was items I really didn't have much info on or how to list them to get them viewed, so I chose Promote listing and in a week I'm lucky if each item had 10 views!!

I have been watching my new listings. I listed 5 new items last night, those have around 100 views total and no watchers. But ebay is reporting my views, in their reporting stats, to be very low. The reports says I had 200 views yesterday. I have 110 items listed, 100 views when to my 5 new listings, so the other 100 views when to the other 105 older listings. That is 1 view per item. So how does that even make sense?

Regarding your comment about recent external Promoted Listings, they would not reduce your on-eBay traffic. However, a peek through your listings reveals some optimization opportunities that should help improve their visibility. For example, many of your listings lack a picture with a plain white background that Google prefers. Adding that should help you make the most of external Promoted Listings and get more views on your listings.

Now that we have seen Q2 reports from etsy, Amazon & eBay it's obvious traffic and sales are down everywhere.

Plenty of reasons for that.

Your drop in Promoted Impressions could simply be that eBay is promoting other listings over yours either because others are willing to pay more or because other sellers promoted listings have higher conversion rates.
