What in the world? Email from "Ebay Collections"

This is a first.  On one of my four selling accounts, I just got an email titled "KEEP YOUR ACCOUNT IN GOOD STANDING - PAYMENT NEEDED".

First line:

Please pay your eBay Seller fees

My fees were, and have always been, paid in full through paypal every month.  The account in question had its fees paid on 8/15/18, right on schedule.

And before you ask, no, I don't think it's a spoof.  The email came from collections_us@ebay.com

Yet another "improvement" apparently designed to confound the heck out of us?

At least you got the apology letter.  I am still sitting here waiting to get one from Ebay and wondering if the will actually manage to get it out in the morning or if it is so unimportant to them that they may or may send it out until a later time and may not even send it to all Sellers who received the Email.  Its amazing how it seems that most accounts got the email but as of 11:41 Pacific Time I have only seen a couple say they have seen the apology email and one even stated it appears to have been thrown together as an afterthought.  Once again Ebay showing how little Sellers mean to them.

Ebay apology email:

On August 20, we sent you an email with the subject line ‘Keep your account in good standing - payment needed’, indicating that your payment was due. That email was inadvertently sent to you. We’re sorry for the time you may have spent reviewing and responding. We value your time and we apologize.

Your account is in good standing and there is no action required by you.

As always, to review your current payment status:
1. Go to My eBay, and then select Account.
2. Select the All account activity link in the Account Summary section.

Thanks for your understanding.

So that is the email that we all had to wait until today to see??  That could have been thrown together by an intern in less than 5 minutes as it basically says nothing other than we inadvertantly sent the email.  Nothing about what may have caused it, nothing other than a generic nothing email.  Thanks again for such a great and timely (I still have not received the email) nothing Email Ebay.  I see nobody is taking the credit for this one though.

Re: What in the world? Email from "Ebay Collections"

Perhaps they just posted a 'To Whom It May Concern' apology on Facebook?

Save a lot of time and trouble, wouldn't it?

Not saying 'NO' doesn't mean 'YES'.

Re: What in the world? Email from "Ebay Collections"

My response to eBay's "apology":

NO.  "You" (eBay) did  not send the email. Your COLLECTIONS DEPARTMENT sent a threatening email to THOUSANDS of reputable sellers, and for  you to minimize the email is ridiculous and SO VERY TYPICAL of eBay.  Let's face facts.  For several years, eBay has been taking away the ability for sellers to combat fake bidders, bad bidders, slow payers,  non-payers, and all the while, fees continue to rise.  Heck, we can't even leave a negative feedback anymore when it is well deserved.  You protect buyers that scam the system, scam the returns process and all the while, you attempt to say how appreciative you are of the sellers.

Let's make one thing perfectly clear.  SELLERS are YOUR customers, NOT BUYERS.  The buyers are OUR (the seller) CUSTOMERS.  Without sellers, you would not have a business.

You need to make this latest fiasco right and stop trying to minimize the impact on YOUR CUSTOMERS - THE SELLERS.

So far, I haven't received anything.  What worries is me is that my account is still showing they're planning to debit me again for my payment on 31Aug18, even though my account clearly shows I'm up to date.  So something is still not right.  Ugh.

You might consider posting on their Facebook ... “Just wanted to let you know that I don’t accept your apology that you haven’t given me yet.”

And in the spirit of Credit where Credit is due - an employee DID see the issue posted shorty after its birth and posted a response! Had I been that employee, I would have typed up my resume and started looking for alternate employment,  being much too embarassed to respond to ANOTHER glaring glitch........................Cat LOL

Re: What in the world? Email from "Ebay Collections"

no sorry, except for the message post on the front page of the community... and then the email they did send said "We have removed the on-hold status of your account as a courtesy. "  Really eBay... like it was our fault

No effort went into resolving this issue, or effort to customize the email for this situation.  Almost like it never happened.  Where is the compensation?

Are you guys sure about all this, I think you're making this up...  I checked yesterday, eBay says everything is in "Good Health".
