So eBay has said buyers are responsible for editing all their listings from First Class shipping and their won't be an automatic conversion and that they have 30 days to do so. What happens after we hit the 30 day mark in the next 1-2 weeks? Will my listings just end? Will they be hidden? I can't find any clarification anywhere on what the consequences would be.

Have a great day!
Thanks for that info, although sad to hear.
I was wondering how GA would be in and out of Hawaii.
So far I haven't received any complaints from customers.
Look at the service I received on the first day GA was implemented. Two days Nashville to Honolulu. Not too shabby...

When I go to change weight on a listing, it makes a new policy, I'm up to 26 policies now

I had about the same number of Business Policies for my 900 listings. I didn't even know I had them, because I routinely only have had to use bulk editing for changes. Many sellers use Business Policies, but when I finally looked at the list, my eyes crossed and I almost had to reach for the Tylenol.
So what I did is select my listings I knew that used USPS First Class Package, then use bulk editing to go thru each one and change it. Yes,, it took some time, but it also gave me the opportunity to go thru my listings and update them for other overdue changes like listing details wording, cross-reference to other listings, international shipping exclusions updates, and price.
It was time well-spent.
Cheers, Duffy

That's it! I'm movin' to Tennesee! lol
Lucky you. My package sat at KCMO main terminal for almost 2 weeks. Then it moved last Saturday and was received yesterday. I was not happy. My thoughts are that the internet was ready for the change, but perhaps the postal employees were forgotten. Not unusual. At least 3 times a month I don't get delivery on regular postal days, mostly due to a short staff. It stinks too. Especially when I have items going out.

Yea its on my to do list this weekend, I didn't even know about business policies until the 9th, just showed up. Before I could go to Preferences but really haven't change any "rules" in 15 yrs for combine shipping and such.

My listings that are still set for 1st class but the labels are printing ground advantage, so not worried about USPS, but ebay isn't saying how long they'll do it. Looks like I'll have to stop, sit down and spend a couple hours changing them over this weekend.
I understand that. I did not say they did tell us what would happen. Lets see if we can find out.
But I also don't understand why sellers would drag their feet with making the changes. It is very easy to do. Many can use the Bulk Editor to make the changes. Why temp something bad, simply be proactive and get it done instead of being reactive.

Can't speak for others, but I misread ebay's announcement thinking we had until Sept 30th but that's for USPS and was holding out hope ebay would update it(I know, waste of hope). Also this is my busiest time of the year, plus bought $8K in inventory last month I'm trying to get on before end of the season. Plan on getting to it this weekend, I have over 1600 listings, only half will be a quick change over once I figure out how to create viable business policy, the other half will have to be done a couple at a time. Not everyone is a computer wiz, I have to go slow so I don't do something wrong or miss any listings.

The change for USPS, has alredy been done. The labels have been printing correctly, since GA became live.
I haven't changed a thing & the labels have been printing just fine, many others posted the same on the day GA became live.
The ONLY issue is with the verbiage in the listings & frankly, I'm just not worried about it. Labels print fine, haven't made any difference in sales, the only time I foresee a possible issue is when rates change in the future, b/c I use Calculated shipping.

I'm not sure that is correct unless something has changed. I thought we were told that 1st class will go away in our listings and buyers will have to contact us for postage info if we haven't updated them. Maybe the chat will clear this up.

I shipped a 4 lb (10x10x10) package from Florida to Alaska yesterday (8/1) using GA. I'm curious how long it will take 🙂
It was definitely cheaper than PM, that's for sure.

Of course it's cheaper than Priority, if it was before July 9th it would have been Parcel Select and had the the same price or just slightly different than GA.

The whole point of this thread is about changing the "verbiage" in the listings. eBay has (vaguely) extended their deadline past the original 30 days, but eventually they will no longer allow sellers to offer First Class package shipping, which after all hasn't existed (from USPS's perspective) since July 9. Listings which have not been updated will probably show something like "Shipping not specified". You can't just coast along on the fact that LABELS got updated immediately.

I just scanned the chat and must say, I'm not surprised with the non-answers. I didn't see anyone ask (may have missed it) what will happen to listings that don't update their listings. I just saw a canned response that they will give sellers till the end of the year to update, but no info as to what happens to them then. They also said they are looking for solutions. This was a known change for months before it happened, and now months after it happened, they have no real solution.
I thought simply-the-best was talking about the verbiage some sellers put in their description about how they ship. I may have misunderstood, if they were talking about the actual shipping method offered in the shipping section of their listing. It doesn't look like they have updated that.

I never used Parcel Select. I ship fragile stuff and the included $100 insurance for Commercial Plus PM was the reason for using Priority.
I never used First Class either because 1) Insurance and 2) combined shipping never worked properly when it went over 1 lb - Most of my "light" items are almost 1 lb to begin with, so I stuck with Priority.
Now that combined shipping is able to work for both light and heavy items AND includes insurance, I'm trying out GA. So far, so good.

This is the latest........from the Monthly chat:
Hi @dhbookds thank you for your question and for the feedback. In order to provide buyers with the most up to date shipping information, eBay is asking that sellers update their listings as soon as possible. eBay will not take any action on listings with First-Class package service until after the end of 2023. We are aware of challenges sellers are encountering with bulk editing listings and are investigating potential solutions, however at this time we do not have a timeframe for a resolution.
