According to eBay item specifics it no longer exists.
I was listing some towels made in the country of Turkey. The sell your item form does not have the country of Turkey as an origin of manufacture option in item specifics. A couple of countries listed that have the beginning letters of Tur - including Turkiye (sp??) - but no Turkey.
Even though my listing photos show the manufacturer label as made in Turkey I had to list it as country unknown.
So I, the seller, look like a nitwit who doesn't know where my own merchandise came from when the information is staring me in the face.
I realize a missing country of origin is a small inconvenience given the snafu's all over the site but seriously, it's kind of an insult to the Turkish people.

eBay updated a few country names/spellings recently.

You mean looking like a turkey using Türkiye?

Popular song from years ago:
Take me back to Constantinople
No you can't go back to Constantinople
Now its Istanbul not Constantinople
Why did Constantinople get the works?
That's nobody's business but the Turks.

I do have a question...does anyone here know about the two massive devastating earthquakes that hit Turkey and Syria a day and a half ago? From the banter, perhaps not. 4000 at least dead, 5600 buildings destroyed, and temps are freezing. Buildings pancaked. Quakes were 7.8 and 7.5. Catastrophic.

Yes, absolutely horrific.
But in all fairness. the OP was posted at 8.51am PDT Monday and the first quake happened at 4.17am local time in Turkey.

My next door neighbour is Turkish. Fortunately his family in the old country is well away from the quakes.

I agree. I have lots of yarns that are made in Turkey. This is ridiculous.

Every time I hear that word it reminds me of this UK Family Feud clip...

In the category: Crafts > Needlecrafts & Yarn > Yarn
Under Country/region of manufacture, the option is there, listed as: Türkiye

What is ridiculous? That Türkiye (in 2023) prefers to be know by their REAL name rather than some sort of translation (Turkey) made up by foreigners?
